people try and tell you something about your own car, and they are wrong and dont believe you. Like example right now i am in an argument with a guy over tail lights in the 2nd gen cudas (67-69) He thinks:
67 is the only year the reverse lights where under the bumper in valance
and 69 that the reverse lights wraped around the tail lights/brake lights

wrong, first off i have a 69 cuda, and it is correct as well as cudas on here, like adamr's,and mikes (only people i could think of with a cuda off the top of my head) they both have 69s, sure adam has a 68 hood and such but he does have reverse lights in the lower valance below the bumper similar to the 67 and 69 but the 67 lights where smaller, 68 is the only year the reverse lights WERE NOT there.

comments? if you are the guy im talking about if you have a name on here dont get all pissed off im just putting it here to get a discussion about it and to straighten things out for ya, no harm done

Some people just have to be the expert. That's why I love to have my son's Dart out and hear to know-it-alls tell me how rare the car is. The Fleet Car fender tag fools 'em some of the time. I just nod.............

For those who don't know about his Dart. It's rather heavily modified, but with all factory parts (except the aluminum radiator):
440 with 69 air grabber air cleaner
Four speed
Barracuda Dash
Hurst shifter with console and 66/67 Charger clock on the console
15" Rallye wheels
69 Super Bee scoops (the ductwork will be added some day)
And the fender tag that reads:
Special Order
Special Mask
Special Paint

Of course you are right, and yes, I do hate talking to people that have their facts wrong. I'd much rather be wrong myself and learn something than have to correct some idiot that won't listen.
Here's my 69 B'cuda reverse lights.

The best one I had of this was in the early 80's. I was a Buick Gran Sport guy, at the time and had a '70 Stage 1 that ran 12.50's (LOL, my 340 now run's low 11's) anyway, I raced these dudes with a LS6 Chevelle, a least they said it was, and handed them their ***. They came up to me after the race to see what I had. One of their drunk buddies ask me what motor I had and told him it was a 455. He proceeded to argue with me that the valve covers were to narrow for a big block so it couldn't be a 455 and had to be a small block. This theory back fired on him because I said if what you say is true then I just blew the doors off your buddies LS6 with a small block. he staggered away.

Now I just let them go and see how far they take it. It's not worth the effort to change there mind. Like the saying goes "Your a legend in your own mind"

Hey '66.... the 2nd Gen B'Cudas look very similar to the uneducated... '67 and '69 had the reverse lights mounted on the rear lower valance, however, '68 was a 1 year only "wrap-around" option on the tail light. From the pics and cars that I've looked at (never actually owned one... yet...), it looks like it's a 1 piece housing like the '67 and '69 but is split internally to work as a tail/brake light and a reverse light.

Now, I could be wrong how this works as I haven't owned one like I said, so please correct me if I am!

Just let him think he's right... not worth the effort to fight him on this...

oh the guy that works at autozone was trying to tell me MY cuda didn't come factory with disc brakes. He then told me he was a mopar guy and had a 383 bored to a 409 in a 68 road runner that turned mid 9s in the 1/4 lmao. Some people.

Oh yea, I forgot about the parts guys that try to tell you what was available and what wasn't. That's a good one.

You should have asked him if he had one for a 5.2 liter, he probably would have said " yea, I have that one" LOL

I learned from experience that options and part #'s go in either year direction by 1. Sometimes more. They would throw early parts into the next year model to use them up. So sometimes you get some weird stuff. Hence my 77ferd MustII factory 302 with 1970 flattop pistons. And the motor was never apart before I got it. Never be surprised when you see something weird on a car, especially if it's a factory part from either the year before or after your model year.

There is a commercial running in Texas now for the state registration. An old lady walks into an auto parts store to get parts for her 440 "hemi". Drives me nuts 'cause they never edited it. I hear a lot of non mopar people saying the same thing... "440 hemi huh?-they were awesome!" :wack:
