Leave it to us to pick apart this guys car! LOL I know its in better shape than mine, but.... It does seem a bit TOO nice. Something about that deal makes me leary.

It is in nice shape. But gold and green? Yuck. It is no wonder it has such low miles on it. No one wanted to be seen in it.

aaaaaaahahaaaaaahaaaa lol lol...."no wonder it has such low miles, no one wanted to be seen in it"!!! that seriously made me laugh! LOL

If you look, you can see the two slots in the rear bumper where a '71/up hook type jack would fit into. The front bumper does not have these slots. You can see in the pic of the jack that it's the correct '70 style that grabs the bumper from underneath.

It looks like it got bid up to about what he paid for it. Didn't meet the reserve, oh well... too bad.

And this car has only one of those attributes!

Both my 70 Swingers have that ugly *** wheel... I think I'll go cry now... LOL

Don't feel bad, I think those wheels are so ugly they are cool!! Really advant guarde design!! Minimalist!!!
I think they really look true to the time! So ugly it's totally cool, you know like 64 4 door Darts!! "Man that car is ugly, but I love it!!"

They even knew of the advanced design, look how they offcentered the logo instead of being in center.

Lot of design in that cool ugly steering wheel. The rim blow would explain the min. look to highlight the rim blow!!:read2:

Not a "True Survivor" With all the restoring going on there!!! I know true survivors personally and that aint one!!

Ummm no. It's a '70.

My bad, I should have said '72/up, sorry! I also should have been more clear, it's a '72/up Scamp bumper.

1970 and '71 jacks grabbed the bumper from underneath:

'72/up jacks had a hook which fit into a slot cut into the bumper under the taillamps (much worse design, IMO)

Hence, the bumper on that car was replaced and is not original. What's more, if you get a flat rear tire you're screwed, because you don't have the correct jack for that bumper!

Same wheel that came on my 70.And to think those were the Shat back in the day.Couldnt take mine off fast enough, and chuck it.
And to think I probably could have sold it for Thousands !!!! lol

$14,100.....Dang,thats pretty dam good money.

Re-listed? That is crazy. $14,100 was a great offer for that car in my opinion. Wonder what the guy is looking for? 20k?

I didn't think it would go as high as 14k and I sure don't see it going much higher.

Yup....Know that car. Lil old Lady car sold new in Regina Saskatchewan...
Been Repainted....Driver quarter panel has been changed (thats why he doesnt show a good pic of the undercoating/sound deadener)...and rear bumper replaced...must have been early in its life....
Another shop here replaced some engine gaskets and repainted the engine.
Rallye wheels are not correct...it came with full hubcaps.
It is a Very nice 14K mile car though....
I have pics of it here somewhere....
Car was sold from here and went to Florida. Heard the Florida owner passed away last year.....
Too bad he doesnt show inside the ashtray = Like NEW Non smoker car.
Thanks for posting!

Isn't this the same car that the owner posted here about a year ago? I thought he was asking what people thought and argued with us about how original this car was/wasn't.

It's a nice car either way.

If that is the case, then this ebay listing is incorrect and VERY MISLEADING and ebay has a policy against this.He needs to list that the paint is NOT original and the neither are the ralley wheels since you are correct this car wouldve came with the hubcaps.Im pretty sure his listing is targeted at non-educated Mopar guys such as us that can easily identify things such as the wrong bumper. If you are sure about this car being repainted and having work done to the motor,I would contact ebay about how misleading this listing is.It wouldnt be fair to whoever buys it to find out it has been in a wreck and has had the motor worked on,and has the incorrect rear bumper
.I would hate to fork over that much dough on a car listed as "original, never tampered with, original paint"only to find out that is not the case. Its very easy to find out if a car has been repainted or not.Dirt specks, tape lines, overspray will give it away.It is a nice car but you could find much better for $14,000 IMHO
Shame on this guy for this ad[-X

I would like to find that thread. I tried but I must not be doing something right because I get every year, Dusters, Valiants and Barracudas in my search.

Not sure about the slots in the bumper, but this is a '71 and up bumper...

Bumper in question

Brake lights are definitely '70. And they're '70 Only. '71-'73 looks like the top picture. Maybe just a repro bumper with incorrect slots?

Either way, I don't see it getting more than $14k. Its a nice car, but it certainly doesn't sound "all original" if its had a repaint and quarter work. And its just a 318/auto on the column with a bench seat and non-power drums. Maybe if it were a 340 car, or a 4 speed, or had buckets and a console etc. it might go for more.
