Exterior lighting maintenance, resto & upgrade

absolutely epic post. thanks so much.

I've been dealing with VERY dim tail/brake lights on my '72 Swinger. Cleaned the lenses and replaced the bulbs... still dim. Guess I'll try your tip and clean up the sockets and the housing, as well as run a new ground wire.

My only question is... are all '72 Swingers plagued with dim tail lights. I don't think i've ever seen one on the street with 'bright' tail lights
