904 Transmission issues.

Could it possibly be a shifter cable problem. Mine got to close to a header once & melted, locking the trans in first gear.

It,s a brand new cable and shifter,I also have fenderwell hedders.Thanks for trying though.When I hold the handle up on the shifter,trying to here clicks going 1,2,3 nothing?So hopefully I can just pull the pan and see whays wrong?
