225 turbo motor

If that engine is from a 1985 Daytona, then it's a 2.2 4 cylinder, (135 c.i.), not a /6. It also sits crossways in the engine compartment. They did use the 2.2/2.5 (na, not turbo) in a few of the early Dakotas, although they were all 5 speeds AFAIK. Adapting one to rear wheel drive is possible with the right parts, although not practical for most purposes. All engine functions are computer controlled so making one work in an old vehicle would be a nightmare for most people. They made good power (175 hp) for their size and run very well in a light car but performance decreases dramatically with increased weight.
And no, a 904 won't bolt up AFAIK.
