Ok so im getting ready to go out and tackle a project tomorrow after work. I have a K frame from a 74 Dart I need to pull. The front suspension is intact minus the torsion bars. What are the steps I need to take to pull this? I have a chiltons book but its not very detailed.

If you're just swapping K-members from one car to another, you'll need to pull or suspend the engines while you do the swap. If the torsion bars and engine are already out of the car, you'll need to pull the steering gear and linkage; lower control arms and strut rods; engine to radiator core support bracket; sway bar (if equipped); frame rail splash shields; and the 4 mounting bolts. If you have access to a good mig welder, I'd go over all the factory seams and gussets to complete or reinforce all the welds. I've seen many k-members with really bad factory welds. Look carefully in the lower control arm mounting sockets and the strut rod holes. Those are the most common problem areas.
Thanks, Mark

This is coming out of a car that has no motor matter of fact there is almost nothing in the engine bay. Its all gone. I want to pull the k frame in one assembly if I can. Im swapping the brakes and control arms over to my BB K frame I got.

Take out the torsion bars, unbolt the cam bolts on the upper control arms, unbolt the upper shock mount bolt, unhook the steering coupler from the box, then unbolt the 4 k-member bolts...should come out as an assembly...

Thats exactly how I thought it would come out. Thanks.

I tell you, you go slow but it's the best way to pull a engine. Done three cars this way.

Did mine the same way. I'll never go in from the top again. Headers bolt right up easy before it goes together, trans, starter, everything.

Day one yesterday went very well. But day 2 today didnt go so well. I got to pulling the UCA bolts got the front one off towards the front of the car. But the rear one wont budge. Ive got the nut off it and starting tapping it and wont move. So I grabbed a bigger hammer and starting tapping it and still wont move. I tried separating the Upper ball joint from the spindle and could get that to move either. Any thoughts?

Nope havnet tried heat. Ive got everything lose just getting the cam bolt to come out. Or the UBJ to pop loose.

I got it out wooooooohooooooooooo thanks guys couldnt have done it without you :cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:
