Volts??? How many volts should I have??

I was running about 11 volts on my meter prior to changing bad alternator. I had it tested and it was bad, battery was bad so I changed both and while I was at it I changed the voltage regulator and put a blaster 2 MSD coil. I had an accel coil with an MSD AL6 and MSD Distributor already. Ran Fine. After changing all above volt meter was reading 15 to 16 volts. Lights were brighter, I could hear the fuel pump was louder. Took for a ride and ran a little slower it seemed then a couple back fires died but started back up and drove home. Any suggestions.
