If you happened onto a 72 Demon, slant with buckets, 3 speed on the floor, no console, original tuff wheel and the original set of rallys still on car, would you leave as is or would you palce a 340 in it and clone it? Would you switch to a 4 speed and remove the 3 speed? Keep in mind value in the end result is a factor. Would it be worth more cloned or left original? I think i've found one.

personally i would keep it original, but i like slant 6s. i would think the value would be more if it were a nice quality 340 clone unless its a true low mileage original everything survivor. just my opinion.

Well Small Block, I'm usually asking for your opinion not giving mine but in this case you have to consider the fun factor... 340 4 spd all the way. I don't know if the Demon with the 6 banger has a ton of value as an original. Kev

You already know what you want to do......
It's worth more as a cloned 340, 4 speed, 8 3/4. (and easier to sell)
That's not what i would do though, but that's me.

I really can't chime in on the value one way or the other. But slant, buckets, 3 speed floor shift? Personally, I'd keep it original.

While the 340 cars and such are getting more rare. But how rare would one be if it had all its orginal bells and whistles and /6? How many of the slantys in these old cars ended up at the scrapper in replacement for a SB. I bet the number of original /6 cars is getting to be just as rare.

Keep it orig...

The more and more I go to shows I want to see different things... you car will get lost in a sea of 340 cars at any of the major shows...

Anymore I actually get more excited to see a stock 6 cyl or even a 4 door as it is not something you see too often...

To keep the car or to resell the car? It's like selling a house with a swimming pool, some might love the house but not buy it because of the pool, get rid of the pool and then along comes the folks who love the house, but buy the one down the street because it has a pool. Some might be looking for a /6 because of gas prices, some might walk right past a /6 car because of performance. I think for resell a V-8 would get more interest. I personally would keep the /6, if I was going to keep it. Here's A Duster from our club at the Hadi Shriner's show in Evansville, IN.

Thank you so much guys for the opinions. I just needed a little reinforcement on what i was thinking of doing. I've always wanted a V8 eatin slant six so yes i will keep it slant if i can score it but with the help of some of the slant guys on here i wont spare the horses and create a real runner. This comes as two pack. One is a 72 Original Demon and the other is a later model Duster with a 360 4 brrl, 3 speed on the floor with bucket and a factory sunroof. Are you ready for this?????????????never mind, i wont tell ya the price cause you wont beleive me anyway. Thanks for the advice guys. Anyone got any slant Hi Po parts for sale?

Bill, you must live right. It's near impossible to find one car around here. Here you are with a Demon and a Duster on the line for cheap. Build the slant into a killer and really piss some guys off.

first off do what you want with it. have fun with it.

now if it was mine, i would have no problem putting a 340 4 speed in it. i wouldn't "clone" it but a 340 some headers and stuff like that to make it fun to drive. personally i think in the end you would get more money out of it with the 340 4 speed in it if thats what your worried about. keep the stock stuff if your that worried about it.

72Demon, thats one nice car man, very clean!! Smallblock, go with a small block!!!
