I found out a long time ago,.....removing the ashtray support brace/bracket gives you a nice 6"x6" hole to reach the speedo cable.

I always have to drop the column cause the lower lip of the cluster will hang up on the column.

Thanks Prine. Just thought it might be helpful. Thanks for the input of removing the ashtray support. I can see where that would be helpful. I did find a path for my hand up the left side, however, everyones hands are different.
