Well, I tried! Been working on the '65 for several years, amped up to have it finished by yesterday (this morning at the latest) for the Hot Rod Power Tour that came to my town, and it just didn't happen! CRAP!!!!! Well, I will take a week's break from all the fun and go back to being a husband and dad until they leave on a cruise this Friday (another disappointment, I ain't going) then i will get back at it. All that was lacking was the dang torsion bars, some trim pieces, the steering wheel, firing the new motor (was waiting to roll it out of the garage) and tuning it.

Anyway, I got more done on it in the last two weeks than I have in two years!

Can't wait to be behind the wheel of my own car again!

I miss all kinds of stuff so I know how you feel!I'm always working or broke

Dang Bamacuda, wish I had known I was in Hoover last week, would have stopped and gave you a hand.

Hopefully me and you will finish our projects and meet up in bham or somewhere for a car show im between us bama. Keep At It!

Gosh, poppa, I wish we'd both known! I will be getting it going soon!!!

I did go to the location for the power tour, and saw some incredible Mopars, but I think the car that stands out the most was a re-creation of the Truckster from the Griswold's Vacation, correct down to the leash on the rear bumper!

Our self imposed deadlines sometimes get us in trouble and cause us grief. You've been at it this long, so hang in there and it will get finished when it's finished.

Awwwwwwww David that sucks! :-( I know you've been working round the clock these last few weeks ... wish it would've gone better for ya.

Cruisin' the Coast in October...you've got a good start to be ready by then..I hope they get the oil under control by then. Would love to take the Dart but it'll probably be the Mustang. It goes next week for paint, if the guy doesn't cancel on me. Maybe we'll see you there.

Dave

I feel your pain Bamacuda. I was hoping to have my 65 on the road by this summer but there's no way in hell that that's going to happen now. I haven't even had the time, energy, or money to even look at it in the last month. :( Oh well, maybe next year.

I am planning on Cruisin' the Coast! I have a good friend in Long Beach Mississippi that I haven't seen in a while. We need some kind of FABO car tags or something to make it easy for us to recognize each other at events like this. Problem with the torsion bars was that someone had beat on them to get them seated into the k-member or something and the rim of the hex hole was mushroomed in a bit. A die grinder and a bit of elbow grease will fix that!
