Headers clear but touches starter on 67 fomula S

I'm in a tough spot.

Just bought this 67 fastback for 10K. Got it home and the new starter stuck as soon as I pulled into the drive. Leaving for Afghanistan/Pakistan in a week. So I'm already in the doghouse with the wife, so I gotta get it right quickly before leave.

Tried tapping it with a hammer didn't un-stick it. Since it is touching the header, I think I need to pull it and just go with a mini starter to keep it from happening again.

Any recommended manufacturer or website I need too check out?
Is there a late model "smaller" starter out there that is interchangable?
MSD mini starters are kinda pricey, so looking for other options.
