I've got a '66 Barracuda, rusty but buildable. It has one hole in the driver's pan, no big deal, my major concern is the framerails. Both front rails have been patched behind the lower arms on the inside of the frame, the rear pass. side has a small spot, also on the inside of the frame behind the spring hanger. It hasn't been patched yet. The patches in the front need to be redone. Short of buying new rails, anybody had any luck getting repairs to hold? I'm trying to d

http://www.autorust.com has caps you can weld over the factory ones. Full length pair is about $490 plus shipping, and the short ones from front to about the firewall are $310 plus shipping.

Best thing to do is get the car compleatly stripped down interior out fenders hood and doors off, engine and tranny out clean up underside remove old patches and acess the damage. Then make the decision.

If the rest of the rails are solid, just have a good welder MIG in some steel plates. If the rails are weak everywhere else, you'll probably want to replace the whole rail or find a more solid car to begin with.

Fireball, both rails for $490.00? Full rails front to back? That's not as bad as I thought. As far as finding a better car, money's tight, Mopars are expensive, I'm kind of stuck with this or nothing so the frame gets fixed.

Arkansas huh??? Too bad, cause I'm getting ready to take this shell of a 66 Valiant to the scrap yard and it's got some pretty sweet frame rails. Are you interested in me cutting them out and sending them to you??? If so, send me your email address and I'll send you a couple of pictures. Geof
