New/old project! 1935 Elgin Falcon Twinbar fat tire bike

hey all look what I just bought at an auction today!

I am seriously the SECOND owner, I bought it from the original owner who passed away a month ago, won the bid at his auction today. I talked to his sister today who said she remembered when he got it, he got the bike for his 14th birthday in 1935. He rode it until he turned 18, then they put the bike in the loft of the barn.....where it sat for about 70 years. She said that last thursday they took it down from the loft and were going to take it to the junkyard, but her granddaughter said to bring it to the auction and see if they could even get 10 bucks for it rather than scrap it HA. Needless to say these pre-war bikes are worth quite ALOT of money. I got a pretty good deal at the auction for it.

1935 was the first year for the Falcon model with a one year only paint scheme, the Falcon model was designed to mimic the early to mid 1930's motorcycles. Alot of them featured headlights and speedometers, mine doesnt have either but does have the original Harley-Davidson style duck horn....that still works great. Heavy duty cast racks and mine still has the motorcycle styled tool storage tanks. The wheels are actually WOODEN, covered in a thin layer of chrome plated metal. The grips and tires on mine were destroyed by time. I will just clean everything up and find some tires and grips.....this thing is a real barn find.

pretty cool eh?
