Does anyone race a 4-speed in a race only car?

I bought an aluminum hemi 833 that came out of the Lee Brother's 68 Hemi Cuda.
It has been pro shifted, all I need to add is a pressure plate and clutch. Any suggestions? I have a 383 with a stock 833 now with a Mcloud bellhousing, and Centerforce II clutch and pressure plate.

I launch at 6500rpm and shift at 6000rpm.

I was wondering what others are using, I was told about Mcleod's soft-lock clutch set up. Looks promising, just wanted imput from others.

Thanks,
Dorian

hi, I run the mcleod softloc clutches. they work very well, are adjustable for base pressure and counter weights. they are a long style clutch. I launch at 4300 to 5200 depending on track, shift at 6500. the clutch does slip some, to take the shock. base is 200 # to 1800#. also, it will slip some on gear change, doesn't bog the motor on a shift.it acts like a torque converter. just food for thought.
