So i have a 318 thats bored .030 over. I need rings to fit that. Anyone know a link to get them? Im kind of new to the piston ring thing, Thanks!

i think i have brand new pistons and ring set for a 318 that is .030 over. Pm me if interested

everybody has their preference...I like hastings w/moly top ring.

when I feel 'rich' and just wanna spend to feel extra special inside, I buy total seal.

the diff is maybe 2-3hp 'maybe', but hey it's knowing you have 'the best'

But most of my engine get hastings.

I use Total Seal Gapless Rings in my 340, they work great. My you these are file fit rings though and are worth the extra cost.

Link to the total seal ring set? I don't really know where to get these from.

Its going to be a street car. but have some nice power. The motor came out of a drag racing polara. ran 13's with it. I broke 1 ring whenever i was taking the pistons out. Thata a bit on the high side though. What about the Hastings?

my 340 run 13's on slippery street tires, lots of tire spin going on..

but anyways..That motor has hastings rings in it, really you could run sealed power, speed pro, engine tech or whatever you want. most of the time when it comes to ductile iron/single moly rings..they are made by only one or two company's and are simply re boxed in many different brand name boxes..like engine tech rings are hastings etc...:read2:

broken ring?-if you have a ridge in the cylinder thats what happens when you pop it out the top of the block, the ring catches and breaks.

Haha so does my Neon SRT-4 I mean tire spin entirely through first and a little of second. But anyways yes that is what happened. It caught. So i could just get a Set of 3.940 bore rings from Summit? What about the thickness of them?

Truthfully, im not sure, im at work right now and will have to check when i get home. Ive tried looking before just out of curiousity and couldnt find many markings on them. Ill have to scrutinize more closely this time. I do know theyve been lightened.

In my 340 I used Ross Racing pistons (.030 over making it bored to 4.070) Forged Alum with 1/16, 1/16, 3/16. Eagle Forged H-Beam rods (6.123 Rod Length), with Eagle Forged Crank (3.310 stroke) both rods and crank got Eagles ESP armor. The Total Seal rings I got form Summit Racing http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TSR-T7590-35/ I built the motor for Street/Strip setup but its mainly used for street. Over kill I know but this way I know I will never have any problems with it. I used Milodon 7 quart oilpan (8 is too big for stock height and street car) with high volume oil pump and hardern shaft.

I used these rings to back up my Ross Racing Forged Alum pistons and Forged Eagle ESP Armored H-beam rods and crank.

Super groovy manikin? How come I can picture one of those sitting on top of one of those honda toys! Oh, wait, that was a really person on that car sorry my fault.
