  • No cruising today, took the carb off the 340 in the Valiant, think it needs a rebuild, been on for 10 years so that's pretty good....last time I took it out it ran like crap and died, had to push it 1 block home lol....besides, it's cold here today and we have a couple inches of snow on the ground...couple weeks ago it was 70 here!
Thanks man, it is so close to the same color I was surprised.
The paint color is hot rod red, and I won't even have to do jambs or anything.
Thanks for your help with it and the tips on the equipment.
The last time I was at Pomona was in 1965. I was living in La Puente' back then. Had a job driving a AAA tow truck out of West Covina for a "Mobile Oil Car Hospital". lol

Made the Bakersfield March Meet that year, too, and the timing runs at El Mirage and Bonneville 1964, 65, and 66.
Moved back to NJ in 1966, Drove my 1967 Ford Fairlane From My Sister's house in Valinda, Ca. to my parents house ( home) in Newark, NJ. Two years later I bought a NEW 1968 Hemi Roadrunner. My first MoPar. in 1970, I added to the RR with a 1969 GTX, I got it used for about $2100.00, it had 1600 miles on it. lol
Thank you, Tim. We did enjoy the vacation!
Got another travel day coming up. There are 7 or 8 of us heading down to Gainesville, Fl. for the NHRA GatorNationals this weekend. I'm meeting my Son down there, and family from Orlando, Niceville, and Bradenton, Florida, and two friends from Alaska.
We have reserved seats right on the start line about 15 rows up for Saturday and Sunday, AND passes to the Suits at the top of the stands for all 4 days. We are usually there early enough to get the same seats during general admission on Thursday and Friday, and it's never crowded for those two days, anyway.
Should be back on on Monday 3/21, but I haven't committed to that, yet. lol
lol.. I knew some of that, some was new info. Both Clintons are, and have been sleaze balls their entire lives. Hilary was fired from the Watergate commission for lying. lol. Sounds like presidential material to me. lol
hey bomber, I just accidently hit visitor mess thing. I never read them, haven`t been avoiding you or any one else. not comp. savy either LOL bob
You are right Tim, its a pretty cool place. Except when you come from work at 4:30am and have to shovel two feet of snow that the plow pushed up onto the end of your driveway. LOL
It is really good for American travelers coming here now that our dollar is only worth 70 cents U.S. Many good deals to be had!
well i just got back to fabo . Got your Merry Christmas . I hope you had a good one bud talk at ya later
That sounds really impressive. Do you know if the heads had any port work? Mine are the GT40P heads which are supposed to "be a little better" that the GT40...........but I think it's splittin hairs at best. Probably more marketing than anything.
Hey, hombre. It's good to hear from you. I hope you had some jazzy holidays. Mine were decent. A little quiet, but I still managed to get out and visit.

Things are better at the house. Amy thought she wanted me back, came over and told me her second thoughts turned into third thoughts over the week and said she didn't want a back yard or a mortgage. Wants to be a minimalist hippie up in Boulder.

She went from being everything rad about a chick, to literally everything I despise about where I live, pretty much overnight. Ha.

It's all good, though. I've reconnected with another friend from about 7-8 years ago she's a bombshell and is bananas about me. Treats me right. She's also into iron and good music.

I'll be around here a bit more, this year. Happy 2016, man!
thanks, sorry I just seen your message. I wasn't ignoring you just didn't see it, my apologies. anyway the car was painted like that when I got it, btw it may be for sale soon. I may be going another direction. thanks again
Anyways, I have been knocking out my hobby (cars collected, parts collected, lost space) with the help of a buddy. We assembled a good running 360,833,73Satellite out of the parts that I have and $2K of his-which only needs paint, tailight wiring, alignment. My 74RR has the front suspension done while we are welding & grinding patches into the body. We just assembled a 360 w/ 273 adjustable rockers, large cam, Rhoads lifters, Chinese air gap, new timing chain, oil pump-am anxious to finish the car. My (good) running, 73 RR needs a timing chain on the 340- is hard to start.
I loved Snoopy and The Muppet show, watched Heehaw, NOVA, Tom & Jerry, Wyle Coyote & the Road Runner. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times!
