Hey Pat, how the heck are ya!
You may already know this, but that's Old Abe, the Airborne mascot. my Dad grew up in Northern Wisconsin very near to where the eagle was originally captured and the small town has a statue dedicated to him. I was facinated by the story of that eagle since I was a small boy.
My Dad was a WWII veteran and the bald eagle was his mascot of sorts. He had pictures of them everywhere. The last time I was up there fishing I saw a huge bald eagle low overhead. He landed on the top of a tall pine and just kind of hung out, watching over me. I had the best fishing of my life that week. I think it was my Dad coming to say hello and to watch over me.
every time i see that eagle it makes me happy and i dig it -
