I read about you using slapper bars instead of caltracs. I too removed my caltracs due to harsh ride. What slapper bars do you use on your 68 Barracuda? Thanks for your help. Looking for something for my 69 Swinger.

I went with the one wire lock-up switch. I just tapped into a keyed 12v source, ran the wire to a 2 position switch (on=off) and to a single tab on the transmission. Inside the transmission, a ground is provided when the transmission is in 4th gear only.

I've seen the other systems that use vacuum switches and tap into the brake light circuit, but I didn't want all that stuff either.

I'm very aware of the lock up issues that sometimes occur with the 700R4 and the 2004R. This is the reason I chose to use the non-lock up converter. The mods you're making should make the converter a little more dependable. I also didn't like all the extra wiring and switches required for the lock up converter. I also greatly enjoy my 2004R in the Barracuda. It seems to work flawlessly.
