  • Hi Jack, I read your leaking snout thread and was wondering what seal you used. I have a Dyer's 4-71. Did you need to replace the circlip?
    Take care,

I can't remember the seal I used. I took the old one to a local business that sells bearings and seals, (at the time it was called Coastal Bearings), and they matched it up with one they had. I also replaced the bearing at the same time. The circlip was sprung when I took it out so I replaced it as well. Overall it was a pretty pain free fix.

Thanks Jack. That circlip sure is buried in that snout! Speaking of Dyer's, not to trash them too much, but they screwed up my crankshaft pulley 3 times. They never got it right, making it an underdrive pulley and too long.
Glad you got your leak fixed, man that makes a mess of the engine.
Hi Jack . What is the measurement from the top blower plate of your mod Man to the top of the distributor . Thanks
I finally saw one of these birthday wishes before it was to late. Thanks for the note Joey.

Jack, before I my driver's licence I was with my brother when he stopped at a speed shop. It was there I saw my first Roots style blower. I was hooked and said, I'm going to have one of them one day. It's still on my bucket list. Hopefully it will look as good on my Barracuda as it does on your car!

The problem ended up being to much preload on the lifters. I cured it with roller rockers but it just as easily could have been fixed with a thicker head gasket or custom pushrods.
How life been treating you ?

Hey Adam, life hasn't been to bad at all. Wife and I are both enjoying retirement. Still working on the Demon, as if that will ever end. Only fly in the ointment is the need for a couple of new knees and a hip. That won't stop me though. We stayed in Danbury for a night last month but we were to tired to look anybody up. How about you? Married again? Car?

    Jack,

Earlier this year I bought a pair of weather strip trim pieces from you. Come to find out, I didn't need them and now someone on the site does. I'd like to make him the same deal you made me.I don't want to make any money off of them, but I don't remember what I paid for them. If you remember, please PM me back and let me know.

    Thanks,

    Bill S.
Send me a PM when you get out this way to remind me when you get here and I'd be happy to show the car.
