  • hello!
I was tipped about you from MoparAnglia here on FABO. I`m going to buy hughes hydraulic roller lifters to my engine part nr: HUG 5321. Can i buy them from you? In that case what price? And how much will it cost to send them to sweden?
    Here is my adress:

    Thanks
    Daniel
ou812? I have been listening to some cuts off that album the last few days. Good record. I enjoy the old school VH, but Hagar VH really held its own. I am new to A bods only, and have been reading what i can when I can. I saw your post about the 360 with RHS heads. I have a set of those heads myself, and will be doing close to the same build. Do you sell the heads complete? I was wondering if you sell the valves, springs, retainers and locks as a kit. Thanks, Randy
we'll see when it gets home on the train , the tranny was slipping and surging real bad so I hope it didn't hurt the motor , she went through a 1/2 quart the last 2 days I was in Windsor but that was 100degree plus weather city stop and go driving , I think she pushes a little out each stop light maybe from the breathers or the loose dipstick tube
Sounds like you had a really good trip! After beating on our CC engine in my car for over a month, I put it back on the dyno before I sold it looking for a few extra ponies and right off the bat it made exactly the power it did before with no changes! So I'm sure it's still making great power. Just need to keep the total timing around 34°. Thanks for the updates Chris!
well I'm a hundred miles from the finish line and she hasn't used any oil for 2 days now, looks like she's gonna make it even tho the tranny is buggered and the rear end is rumbling the motor still hauls the mail when I press the go pedal , I doubt it's making the same power but we'll find out after I ship her home on the train next week and build a good tranny for her and since the rear is going to need service maybe I'll find a 411 or 393 to use while the 323 is being redone and take her to the track a couple of times to see if we can run a low 10 and get tossed for no cage eh! LOL
I don't have a timing light here but I was thinking of taking a member up on his offer of a cool one in Winnipeg tomorrow , and was hoping he would let me use his driveway to do an oil change so maybe he has one , I know I packed some teflon tape some where just can't find it but it should be enough to tighten up the tube , I am keeping an eye on the oil deal it takes hours of cool down fopr the oil to drain back to the pan then it goes from below the add mark to completely full when cool which makes it hard to judge without over filling which is of course my biggest fear
Wow, cool!! Sometimes they do come loose, they aren't the easiest to secure with no bolt on the tube.
You need to make sure the timing is not more than 34° total. Good luck and have FUN!!
Hey Brian how you doing ? I am 1/3 of the way cross Canada it's used a litre of oil but I think it's coming out where the dipstick tube goes in as the tube is loose , I had to switch to 91 octane today as there is nothing higher available in this province . It was clicking up top when I shut it down this morning but still pulls hard and hasn't pushed any water out the tube so it isn't running to hot .I've been running at night in 2 hour hops , I don't want to run to low on gas even with the extra 10 gallons in the trunk which I had to use twice ,not a lot of 24 hour places here on the prairie's .
hope you didn't mail anything yet , I think the problem is the lower pulley on the balancer since only 5 of the 6 holes line up and the new balancer appears thinner than the old one , I'm positive I can get the alternater to work and the power steering looks like if I re index one line so it clears the battery tray it should work if I get a spacer sleeve on a long bolt back to the head , I think the extra ears on the old pump just eliminated the spacer sleeve's on both , can you get me the proper pulley for the balancer that has all 6 holes lining up ? and maybe a three groove? so I have some options , what do you think ? is there any such animal ? I'll call you tomorrow -thursday- morning or you could call me collect tonight if you see this before 11pm
will be there tomorrow brian, will call you in AM to let you know Im on the way! Hopefully will be there around 10-11
I recommend ACL aluminum bearings. They work awesome and have great conformability. I'll price them for you Monday.
Hey brian What kind of main and rod bearings would be good for my Engine? I was told H series Rods and P series Mains for Clevite. What do you think?
I guess I didn't get that , No worries here , I was thinking you had said you were going to port my heads along with 2 other sets a week ago then assembly and that Friday was going to be dyno day , it's all good , it all takes time and you've got a full plate with racing season in full swing. Any recommendations on cooling this thing ? thanks-Chris
Yes I'll let you know when I need payment for that and the crate. When we talked last I did say that it would be finished this week....I have planned all along to be finished by the end of the month.
Sounds good I'll let the trucking co know it will be next week instead of this week thanks, don't hesitate to call me collect or charge me for calling long distance it's worth a couple of extra bucks to know whats up, how do you want to work mount? It's easiest for me if you just get and charge my card
It's going on the dyno Thursday or Friday. Heads are done, and will start assembly Monday. Have to order pushrods.
Hey Brian how you doing , did we make it to the dyno yesterday ? Just a little nervous excitement on my part lol ,like a kid in the candy store . Please don't take it as pressure I know you had other things to deal with -Chris
ps about that paperwork if your normal invoice has the same info required by the canada customs invoice then you don't need to fill that one out just add the "Customs Clearance by" bit to yours and it might help the NAFTA form if you referred to it as a "Replacement LA Series Motor for a 1969 Barracuda" all parts made and all machine and assembly work performed in the USA
Crackback referred me to you ....looking for a set of intake/exhaust valves for my 340 Xheads ...let me know if you can help.
You probably won't be perfect...that's what a light is for!! Yeah I don't think you can see anything from the top....kinda trippy.
So the rotor and cap also sync up with one of the internal electrical trigger points in the distributor that I can't see??

So if I'm at perfect TDC and the rotor and cap terminal are perfect alignment, I'm at 0 deg advance? No matter if cap and rotor together are in any clocking position?
