  • Hey there G W Max my name is Eric Freeman and I am doing a 360 small block Plymouth motor is the L A I believe and I'm having trouble getting motor mounts for my 1965 barracuda I got the 747 tranny I believe I'm Just Looking for motor mounts if you know anyone that has them so I can just not in them to the motor and drop it in and go from there I'd appreciate it
Excellent write ups! I am also planning on doing the same thing in my 65 V200. Question I have is, mine is originally a 170 auto 904(column cable-shift) so I will be looking for a later 904 trans. Any tips for keeping the column shift or should I just go to a Quicksilver style floor shifter and throw a Lokar cable in it(which I did on my last Valiant)? Thanks!
Hey gwmax65! A year ago, I did the halo lights swap that abodies posted in their DIY section. Thanks for that how-to. It went great and it as stoopid easy!

Hey gwmax65, what HEI distributor are you using in your DIY article? The one with the clear cap. It looks like the same size as the one I have handy to do my 5.2 swap in my '72 Dart, but holding it up to the original distributor makes it look huge. Afraid it isn't going to fit in the car and hit the firewall.

Hi! It's one I got off eBay, they really are big compared to the stock Mopar type, there's 2 different outer shaft body lengths I've found, haven't used one in a later A yet, but I'd worry about the longer shaft version interfering with a 3 speed wiper motor. You can get a different HEI distributor with module on side, about same size as stock, but be aware most are chinese cheap.

Honestly after doing this for so long I prefer stock Mopar stuff, seems to outlast anything else I've used, best recommendation, stock Mopar ECU conversion, or MSD.
Hello GW, I like your article and you have alot of experience after 6 swaps.
I will swap from LA 273 to 360 Magnum in my 66 Valiant. Preferring the V-Belt style.
I have to clarify some topics which are not so clear vor me.
    Best regards, Oliver
