I think this will be be my option for now. I don't plan on pulling the K frame untill I am ready to do either A a motor swap or B I start doing the restoration on it which maybe next summer
I kinda figured that was the plan however the motor is still in the car and the upper comtrol arm snubber plate is in the way to cut a side plate out. Im affraid the K frame will have to be taken off
Hey guys First Iam looking for a K frame bolt if anyone has one laying around for a 74 Dart. I have a broken off k frame bolt that snapped off inside the frame and drilling it out etc was unsuccessful and ruined the threads in the frame it is on the D side front bolt so its in a position where I...
There is nothing broke off inside the hole, yes my hole i drilled is very off center but almost through, I already broke a few drill bits with this damn thing. I usuallyhave decent luck but not this time. Anyone know any shops near Cleveland that can do this?
I thought about that but I don't think I can get my flux welder up in there..Plus when I was using the torch I may have accidently fused the bolt threads and the frame threads together. The bolt is broken off into the frame there's no part of the bolt that sits above the surface its all way down...
Hey guy's,
I have a broken K frame bolt stuck in the frame. I tried drilling and using an extractor on it with no success. I tried torching it out but my tip on my oxy acetylene torch needs replaced. ANY suggestions on how to remove this? Is the car ok to drive like this for a min? Also...
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!! I found out the cause of that insidious noise,,, There was a bit of excess steel hanging over the edge of my K frame just general factory assembly quality rough edges and it was just enough to hit my torsion bar adjuster bolt. If you look at the pic that tiny bare metal spot...
Well, I did raise the suspension a bit and it did aliviate the car bottoming out and I bought new brake pads as im suspecting it may possible thats the problem. At least I hope so...I will post the results after I put them on.
Took a look at the linkage everything is all hooked up fine..some sort of electrical issue? The seat belt interlock is disabled. Is there something in the steering colum?
Hey guys,
Another issue has come up on my 74 Dart 225. Auto trans . Untill yesterday I had no problems starting the car. Then I turned the key and nothing. I tried it a few times and it did start but its intermitn. However it does start no problem if I put it in neutral. Ignition switch? N...
Shocks are stock oem type. I had everything loose and hanging when the suspension was assembled. Of course the shop I took it to was to finish the suspension setbup along with alignment.
You were correct with the suspension bottoming out. I brought her up a turn and a half on the adjustment bolts and she rides real nice.. now to nail down the noise..small victories ✌️
Hey guys here are the videos I took. It was hard to mount the phone to the car. Good thing I have phone insurance :) Anyways I still can't figure it out.
I'll take pics of my suspension when I get home. Yes the LCA pivots were tightened at ride height. I did notice this...bouncing the suspension doesn't seem to create the squeek however braking say from 10mph does. To me, it seems more pronounced on the p side but it's definitely on both sides
The strut rods are brand new. I took them off tonight inspected everything reinstalled them making god damn sure they were installed properly. Messed with the pivit angle several times and still have the same issue..Sooo I am out of ideas here.
The suspension was rebuilt by myself at the same time. And actually following the instructions from ya'll here. lol The guy that did do my alignment did use molly grease. Iam going to go in the garage and play around. My guess it's the position of the joints. The sound is undeniable coming from...
Lca are rebuilt with stock rubber oem stuff no poly. The entire suspension is oem rubber stock stuff. Only thing not is the strut rods. The strut rods are brand new.its definitely the strut rods
I think I understand. Yeah I am going to go through and watch the travel of the suspension and see how its acting. I do believe it is the orientation of the joints that are giving me problems
