Post #46. Modern technology doesn't override physics.

If the definition of streetable is 'honest', then there is no 5000 stall c'ter that is streetable. A lot of slippage & heat generated below the stall speed. Quoted stall speeds are generic. The greater the tq produced by the engine, the higher the stall speed.

If you don't want lifter failure, have a factory set of lifters re-faced. How many times does it have be said???

There is a similar thread to this on SpeedTalk. A professional engine builder bought a tray of 128 lifters & 18 were soft.

Fishmen, your post #20. I was referring to the pic in post #2. Whatever they fit, they are headers. A header is a collection of individual pipes or runners that merge into a common area, known as a collector. Post #2 fits that description.

Use a 400 block instead of a 440 block, & you will save about 3/4" in overall width. Incidentally, those ' manifolds' in the above pics ARE headers. They have individual primary ' pipes ' & have a collector. They differ only from tube type headers in the length of the pri pipes.
