    Manual steering box swap issues

So it's the first time I've swapped steering boxes, but my 75 Duster had power steering from the factory which was shot, I decided to swap it out with a manual steering box a guy gave me that originally on his 72 Duster. The swap itself went perfectly fine but when I went to roll the car onto my...

So obviously 340s and 360s get tons of love but how about a post for some 273 and 318 appreciation?

    318 MAX fuel economy builds?

very much agree. Not totally comparable but drove my old 83 D150 2 hours to a car show. Has just a mild compression, RV cammed 360 with a 4-speed. Was a blast to road trip it there. Mileage wasn't half bad for a full sized pickup either. I believe I got up to 15 on the way there.

    318 MAX fuel economy builds?

So what I'm thinking for starters is taking an old 78 318 I have, deburr the whole block and put glytal on the inside for better oil return increasing longevity, maybe find a good set of 302 heads and do a little cleaning up in the bowl area and valve guide area. Get a Isky More-A-Mile camshaft...

    318 MAX fuel economy builds?

Never would've guessed so many people would be highly intrigued and invested in a max fuel economy build over a max performance build. Really cool to see the communities brains come together in my post.

Intakes? Boost? And bears oh my!

Yes sorry I've been lagging behind on my post with replies. The truck is heavy as stated. The tire size is 33 inches and i plan to swap to either 3.90s or 4.10s, cylinder heads will be lightly ported 308 heads, unsure if I will stay 1.88 or go 2.02 valves. The cam specs I will call Jim at Racer...

Intakes? Boost? And bears oh my!

Right. It will be a blow through carb, roughly 9.5:1 CR with a Racer Brown custom grind cam, Eagle SIR Rods/ SRP pistons, and scat crank a very lightweight rev-happy assembly to aid with info. Will be in a heavy W150 pickup.

Intakes? Boost? And bears oh my!

So I was talking with @TT5.9mag asking him for input and help on a Turbo 360 LA project I want to start on, and beings that I have never dabbled in the arts of boost before one can easily say I have no clue of what I'm doing. As he was talking with me I made a lost looking for an M1 intake to...

    [WANTED] Small block mopar intake

In the market for an intake for a small block for a turbo 360 project. Mid-rise or high-rise. I like the design of the M1 but I'll honestly be open to just about everything, it's not for a full blown race setup. Anyone have anything?

    360 block limits

360s can be stout when prepped properly. Do your research, take your time and talk to the right people and they can be pushed hard. I'm shooting for 600 N/A on my 1970 factory 360 block with W9 heads HOWEVER I am talking to tons of hardcore racers and machinists making sure I know about...

I couldn’t even start to imagine

I'm sure I could, I haven't dabbled in Methanol or E85 use in racing yet. I know nothing about what it takes to run Methanol but I'm in the literal heart of E85 country in Iowa. It's like $2 a gallon here wonder if the E85 will sub in for the Methanol straight up or different tune?

    War of the roller lifters...

So as flat tappet cams usually receive a negative connotation these days, most are making the switch to roller setups. My question is what does everyone have for input on brands they like for hydraulic or solid roller lifters? Beings that I use to be a flat tappet guy and am only JUST getting...

    Main cap girdles re-discussed

So you think that just a set of good billet caps with good ARP studs will be just fine for 600? Admittedly this is the first time I've ever shot for the moon like this. It's a learning curve but I'm determined to do it and do it as correctly as possible the first time. Learn properly on this one...

    Main cap girdles re-discussed

I can understand what you're saying. That's why I come here. Why waste my time when I can get multiple pieces of input from people that have seen or done it over the years. Rather than be like half my generation of new mopar guys that think they know it all. I listen to reason (most of the times...

    Main cap girdles re-discussed

No no I do know that, I won't do that. Just the extra outer surface of the 4 bolt cap to help with the high horsepower (600) and the high rpm (7,500) I won't drill the block for it
  27. gagembassett

    Main cap girdles re-discussed

And that was the plan for me ARP studs, billet 4 bolt main caps, windage tray and possibly the girdle on my factory 360 block.

    Main cap girdles re-discussed

I was just rereading a thread I commented on a long while ago about main cap girdles and the ending consensus was a no..... HOWEVER I did read it and it seemed to me that everyone was only implying it to 2 bolt main girdles on an LA factory block. Now I do understand that some people still run 4...

Best place to order custom leaf springs?

Mono leaf more so for the D150 than the Duster as that was what the fabricator recommended to pair with the ladder bar he's making for it
