I have one of Larry Sheppard's book and the one you posted originally... I use Sheppard's book constantly and highly recommend it. I think I have opened the other one a half dozen times in 10 years and honestly I dont recommend it. There is nothing in that first book you couldn't get from the FSM.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but did you check that the lifter oiling rings don't pop out past the top of the lifter bores or have the block bushed to deal with that? I know my 340 block could not run a HRL with .570 lift in stock form.

Do you have any more data from your dyno run? What other parameters did they log? AFR, E-temp, MAP?

Those are exactly the ones I am looking at from Mancini. Basically the same price as RPMs and have bigger valves and the pushrod out of the way. I have a lead on a set of ductile iron w2 rockers for not much more than a set of new stamped steel or rockers so that's why I'm considering these heads.
