    E body brake conversion confusion

Just want to throw out there that there are at least 2 slider type brackets for different diameter rotors. A smaller set for the almost 11 inch rotor and a bigger set for the ll.75 "monoco" rotor. Make sure you have the right slider brackets for your rotor diameter.

I've got a 68 service manual and it doesn't specify. Thank you.

    Hurst mounting torque

Ya. I'm just concerned that torquing it to those numbers will make the shifter difficult to move. I would think theres a solid tube inside the mechanism that prevents overtorquing but I'm not sure. Thanks to all. I'll make the bolts "tight" and check them in a week or so.

    Hurst mounting torque

I'm talking the shifter mechanism itself not the adapter plate with the Allen heads. Sorry about the confusion. The shifter has 2 bolts. A 7/16 and a 3/8 maybe or 1/2 + 7/16. Service manual and holley directions basically say tight. I'm probably overthinking it as usual. Those Allen's are...

    Hurst mounting torque

I did a clutch and can't find any bolt torque specs for my Competition Plus 4 mechanism. The pdf from Holley said tighten securely....I do recall the bolts were tight. This is a B Plymouth btw. Thanks in advance.

    Flywheel specs

I'd also be sure that the springs on the disc do not contact the heads of the flywheel to crank bolts. That disc hub does flex.

    Too Hot

What is this large gap between the shroud and the top tank? The shroud should sit tight against the radiator.

Rear shocks, what are you using?

Viking double adjustable. Measure what you actually need. Great product that will help you hook and can surely be dialed in for street.

    Any Jeep technicians out there?

You disconnected the sensor with the car off I take it? At least 5 minutes but try a half hour. Do not disconnect the negative or positive at that time. You can and probably should clean any corrosion on the terminals. Give the battery a charge. It's probably an AGM which some lesser chargers...

    Any Jeep technicians out there?

You can shut it off with the dash button but it's an ON default. Every time you start the engine the stop/start is engages. It's just habit on my behalf to turn it off.

Ready to pull the trigger on rear sway bar set up 70 Dart, 8 3|4 axle....

Addco rear bar set up. Uses 2 square u-bolts that you mount through the frame rail. Requires hole drilling. These mount the upper brackets for the links. I don't like the brackets to mount the bar to the housing but ours never moved in the 7 years this set up was on the kids Duster. Why a...

    Any Jeep technicians out there?

Try disconnecting the battery sensor on the negative terminal for 5 minutes or so. And you said Cherokee (KL chassis) never had a stop/start battery and never had a 3.6 a Grand (WK) may have a stop/start battery. If it's the OEM battery replace it anyway but try the battery sensor disconnect first!

    Hard Starting Hot Big Block

As Oldmanmopar pointed out some starters have a large hole on the top. The starter could be too close to the ring gear. Usually there's a bushing for that upper 7/16 stud. Is that in there? BTW stick or auto?

    64 valiant carburetor

I'd be surprised if it wasn't original. Got a carb kit and it definately listed the Holley and it ,as well, has all the original tags. It is the Charger 225 engine. Special for 1964.

Squeeling V belt and CVF alternator

A belt tension tool for V belts. And there used to be 3 different automotive series of belts. 13,15 and 17 or 5,7 and 9. Skinny belts 13 or 5 series fit lower in the groove. I used to regularly throw belts back in my nitrous days. A skinny belt did the trick. Maybe a different series would help?

    Engine diaper

Don't know but I bet you can order one from Jegs/Summit and keeping it clean and see if it'll fit. Otherwise as long as it covers the oil pan you should be ok. They generally hang from the end exhaust studs. Have you considered an under body shield? You can use that instead. I have a DRE shield...
