How far in the hole 318 pistons

Yeah but I have few different manifolds I can put on so I managed to find one to fit (portosonic) but the heads have been milled a bit to get from memory about 58 to 60 cc from the 302 closed chamber heads. You have to measure it to really know where you stand.

How can you not have free carbon if there isn't enough oxygen for it to bind to? Measuring Stoichiometric Combustion Processes In any combustion process, an amount of oxygen reacts with an amount of fuel. If the amount of oxygen exactly matches the amount of fuel, combustion is complete. This...

How far in the hole 318 pistons

I've got a 318 with Enginetech pistons that measured 10 thou down after the block came to me heavily decked. Compression height for those pistons is 1.741 so if you calculate the distance with with the piston(1.741), rod(6.123) and crank stroke (3.31/2= 1.655) you get 9.519. If you go by...

If you understood the basics of combustion and chemistry you would understand that any AFR below 14.7 would leave free carbons to find they're way onto the spark plug during combustion due to the heat and pressure generated at ignition time. Considering Bruce Robertson and Larry Widmer could...

Here's @Mattax plugs and what Shrinker had to say: Do they look familiar: There is nothing happening in the cylinder. Theres no air being compressed. Its not even making enough bang to seal the rings, its even starting to look like its going to oil up the #3 plug soon. The general grey...

Yep. Bruce Robertson aka Shrinker. He also said this: "Unleaded fuel makes exactly the same colorations as leaded. There is no difference in reading a plug on unleaded. If the plug wont color on unleaded its because you havent got good vaporization of the fuel. Unleaded is much harder to vaporize."

Yes it can be. It also varies between induction strokes and varies between cylinders in some cases as much as 11-1 to 17-1. Its the vaporization rate not the octane. Lower octane fuels are designed to vaporize in low compression engines. If its lean at time of ignition you haven't converted...
