Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

The fact is, a large majority of products made in China are made for American or Western-allied companies. China has the cheapest "skilled" labor in the world and is able to produce/provide material at lower costs. American companies design their products here and then have them produced there...

    NHL 23-24

Rangers played the Isles and Flyers last two games and have looked like a team just playing out the string. Despite the lack of effort, we still have the best record in Hockey right now so I'm not concerned. No need to go all out and risk injuries before the playoffs.

Sounds like new drag racing, donut circuses fines going up.

Good. Stupidest **** ever. Hard to fathom how destroying your own car makes you cool but apparently it does. The worst are the subhumans who willingly get hit and go flying when the *** end whips around. Assholes. I agree it is absolutely frustrating when these intersection takeover things get...

    Mopowers' 66 Dart Build

Yep, mine was wrinkled because I couldn't pull it tight enough to get the material hooked on the cleats front and back. It's not possible to install an OE-style perforated cloth headliner with the windows in. Not sure about the later '72-up cardboard ones. I remember laying upside-down with my...

    Mopowers' 66 Dart Build

Nice job on all that. What lathe do you have? I’d like to get one and I look often but just haven’t followed through yet. Headliners are a PITA for sure, especially with a cage. I’m re-doing the one I put in a few years ago because I installed it with the windows still in. Got it close but...

Hilborn Fuel injection - small block Mopar

They can be converted to EFI if one is so inclined. Very cool stuff as-is though. Looks like a pretty old casting. Be fun to put it in a mid-'60's A body with a straight axle. This guy does top notch work. Here's his IG page.

    NHL 23-24

LET'S GO RANGERS!!! Cautiously optimistic about our prospects right now. I'm always afraid to open my mouth but honestly, I can't remember the last time this team has played as well as they are playing right now. We're not getting pushed around, we come back as if it's part of the game plan...

[SOLD] '70-'76 A body gauge panel insert for custom gauges

Up for sale is '70-'76 A body gauge panel insert for custom gauges. It is made of ABS plastic and mounts in the factory bezel location. This panel will not fit Darts through 1971 but '72-up with the Duster/Demon style gauge panel will work. This is the same one that Autometer and Classic Dash...

Best performing non offset Small block Mopar heads

I was going to say SCE but I don't see anything they offer with a "P" in the part number. That post was also from several years ago so those particular gaskets he was referring to may not even exist any more. In their current catalog they list a set that are 2.25" x 2.4" but they are for...

Best performing non offset Small block Mopar heads

That's the truth. Frankly, I'm a little ashamed to post this pic since the trim job I did on these is so rough but I can say for sure that cutting these gaskets precisely is not easy. Thankfully I had enough sense to order a couple sets. Sometimes you gotta offer up a sacrifice to the...

Best performing non offset Small block Mopar heads

Yes, the ports are works of art. They're probably about as close to an offset-style opening as you can get with standard ports. It is taking some work to match the intake ports to these but I suppose that's a good problem to have.

Just your garden-variety small block. I have nothing to add here other than to say that Rod is a really good guy and is a pleasure to deal with.

    Your first mopar...?

In early 1997 I bought a yellow '67 Belvedere II with a warmed over 273. I got it for $1,800 I think? Seems like a lot now but it was a pretty clean car by today's standards and it ran OK. I parked it on the street in Queens, NY where I lived at the time. I drove it everywhere in all sorts of...

    transmission cooler placement

I think it was more of a general question about the ‘68 S/S cars. They were not street cars so IMO they weren’t necessary. They likely were not hot lapping like bracket racers either. Though it wouldn’t have been much, an extra cooler would have added some amount of weight to an already heavy...

    transmission cooler placement

Thanks. If you mount a cooler in the back there generally needs to be a fan on it. Having it in front usually provides enough airflow for the fins but if the cooler is larger it can block airflow to the radiator. If you’re sitting at idle the temp will creep up the same way the cooling system...

Glad to help. There really isn't much out there on the internet in regards to these boxes so hopefully it helps others down the line as well.

    low gearset 904?

A&A will have them. Like Locomotion said, they're mostly found in '78-up 904s but not all units have them. The info below is cut and pasted from this thread; Differences in 904 sun shells Something to be aware of is the later ('78-up) low gear sun shells are different than earlier models. You...

    the Heater Delete option?

This is where the door and hinge separated. The hole in the hinge is from a rivet. I had to be real careful when drilling them out, this stuff is so fragile. Normally, there's a little tab/wing on the bottom and top edges of the door with holes. The hinge had angled tabs that fit into the door...

    the Heater Delete option?

As promised, here are some pictures of my right-side 'heater delete' vent box. Don't mean to side-track this from the OP question but it's sort of relevant. I have the little door handle, just forgot to show it in these pics. The foam rubber seal gasket is wasted. The seller sent me...

    any record (45/LP0) record collectors?

I've been to Jerry's! You can spend a lot of time in there. Most anything of value gets picked up quickly so you'd be extremely lucky or willing to pay a lot to come out of there with anything special. I just logged in to Dicogs which I haven't done in a long time. I actually need to update...

    any record (45/LP0) record collectors?

^ Yep, go on Discogs and search away. It's all record nerds. Put your rabbit hole shoes on. There's also a function where you can list your whole collection and the program will give you an estimated value based on condition and desirability. https://www.discogs.com/

    Desk Top Dyno

Sorry, I'm going to have to disagree with that. Desktop Dyno is based on actual mathematical formulas, not anecdotal experience. Give two different guys the exact same engine and the performance results will invariably be different. Engine building discussions here devolve into pissing contests...

    Desk Top Dyno

I had it too but last time I tried to use it a few years ago it wouldn't work. I think it was too old for Windows 10 to deal with, it wouldn't even open the program. Not sure if it's even available anymore. Comp Cams used to have a very basic version of it on their website but that's long gone...

    Steering column install...

Maybe install the firewall plate after you have the column bracket where you want it. I can't remember if there are slots in that lower bracket where it bolts to the column to but if there is, leave those bolts slightly loose until you have it all positioned. There should be a small amount of...

    the Heater Delete option?

Ha, that's funny about the FB group ad, probably your best shot these days. Unfortunately though, you're probably coming up empty because as far as I know, '67-'69 Barracudas were never produced down in Australia, only Valiants. Chrysler Australia was a low budget operation and it's highly...
