That seems a lot easier to do than find the correct parts. I’m just starting to gather parts for a 4 speed swap so I got a ways to go but the shifter seems like it’ll be the thorn in my side for the process so I wanted to get ahead of the curve.

Two generations.

This is the second year in a row people ask if our cars are here to be sold. Tell em no then get the “oh I get the ratty look I guess”

That one was clear. Which is odd considering I blew everything out and carb cleaned every hole in December. It’s had a filter on it since.

Only out of one booster which was throwing me off. Only thing I found on the secondary side was a horribly plugged air bleed. On the primary side everything looked fine, tossed a bowl gasket in there for the hell of it. Runs fine and not leaking on the primary or secondary side now so I guess...

I was swinging away on it. Noticed on the D/S the rear booster is dumping fuel after I shut the car off, then about a minute later somewhere under the front of the carb dumps fuel all over the manifold. Pulled it off and gonna tear it apart to see what I find.

From my vague recollection it flashed somewhere around 32-3400 in my buddies duster many years ago. I know his car made more power so I’d guess it’ll be somewhere in the 3k range.

Hoping it’s something simple. Had the carb apart in January, and the filters have been clean since. Fingers crossed.

Pulled the duster out today. Got the LD340 and MT valve covers on it, verified it is in fact a purple shaft in the motor. Get it all done and the old Holley decided to leak everywhere and dirty up the manifold. Gonna pull the carb another day and chase down the leak, worst case I have a 650HP...

Definitely trying to keep this more geared towards an old school kind of build. Scored the flex plate and valve covers today. Before anyone’s asks, they were cheap. Intake gaskets should be in tomorrow and hopefully I’ll find some time soon to slap it all together.

Just remember, the nicer you make it the more it’ll cost when you buy it haha. I don’t have the words for the work you two did on that intake. I really don’t.

Progress has been slim to none. Picked up an LD340 today that needs a repair. @TT5.9mag and his friend are gonna take care of that for me thankfully. Also he was a huge help on the mystery Continental convertor that’ll be tossed in it. Should be a fun stop light beater.

I’d definitely appreciate that. Was in my buddies duster LONG ago and he parted it out. I’m sure you can guess where it may end up..

So, long story short I bought this convertor probably 10 years ago(used), shoved it on the shelf and never used it. Looks like CSSX5 but google turned up nothing for me. Can anyone ID the numbers on it? Or point me in a direction to go hopefully. Thanks, Chris.

My whole take away from this is, I have a lot more faith in my garbage (besides the ring gap) if I ever decide to turn it up. As for people not enjoying people abusing parts….yikes. Steer clear of me cause I’ve put my car on the two-step knowing the timing set was falling apart. Live a little...
