Cylinder head discussion 340 with stock above deck pistons

I have to agree with Newbomb, you should be running in the 12s easy with no nitrous, maybe a better cam, or something else is the problem.

    TTI Shorties on Early A?

I don't believe they fit on an early A, there is not a lot of room on these cars for exhaust. the full length headers do fit well.

    ATM/Holley verses Carter 625 AFB

It was about 10 years ago, i think it was $275, but i think it was well worth it, like i said best carb i have ever ran, always starts cold with no choke and idles within seconds. I have smaller jets in it now that what came factory.

    ATM/Holley verses Carter 625 AFB

I think it depends on who has worked on your Carter carbs, and i am not sure if the AFB is better or worse than an AVS , I have an AFB maybe 500 cfm, that was done for me that is probably the best carb i have ever ran. not sure how much different the car would run with a Holley based carb.

How much weight gain from adding a Dana and roll cage.

I believe if you making gear changes all the time, then the 60 and 12 bolt don't make as much sense, and they make so much stuff for the 9 inch now, alum reinforced cases, 40 spine axels and whatever gear ratio you can think of.

How much weight gain from adding a Dana and roll cage.

From what i understand is the Dana 60 is a much more efficient rear end than a 9 inch, i believe the dana and a GM 12 are the best.

    SB vs BB who wins?

I ran 10.60s with my 360 with iron J heads, and flat top pistons. Did not have 355's

    SB vs BB who wins?

So a standard port for the small block, and a max wedge port for the big block does not seem fair. Hypothetically

    SB vs BB who wins?

If we are talking stock big block vs stock small block. I will take a 340 over a 383 or 400 any day of the week.
