    Electric guitar...

You Tube has helped me immensely, it's a really good tool. There is so much guitar-specific stuff on there, you'd never be able to watch it all. I can't vouch for the accuracy of everything I use but I can say that there were enough songs I learned to play by ear but then watched a YT lesson and...

Yep. Just keep doing what you're doing, it will be fine.

    What is this bracket called

If I were to eliminate that bulkhead I'd do something like the top picture where the cage is tied in from the outside-in. Seems like a lot of work though. Both pictures of the old race cars show the OE firewall was removed so that could be why the extra tubing was added. Hard to tell exactly...

    What is this bracket called

I dunno... that looks kind of like a mess to me. Almost as if bad stuff was happening and they did what was needed to band-aid it. If starting from scratch and the rules allowed that would have been all tubing. What car is that though? I had to turn it upside down to see it better. Little...

    What is this bracket called

It may not look like much but like stated already, that stamped vertical support/bulkhead is there to tie everything together. There's one in the rear too where the front spring perch is. If you can't find them from AMD get someone to cut them out of a parts car and make sure they get some of...

AFR SBM Heads, Just got back from PRI

Both SB heads look like the readily available generic/offshore castings with whatever proprietary CNC program each vendor uses. If so, they are a somewhat common recipe these days offered by several small-to-medium size vendors. Most are around the same price dependent on what type of valvetrain...

Lessons learned - Wheel cylinders and sealing stainless lines

Several years ago I plumbed my entire braking system with SS tubing - never again. I have good quality tools but the stainless was difficult to get a good flare on, was harder to bend and everything leaked. I went through the tighten/loosen/tighten process several times and could never get it...

    Drag Car Wiring Advice

Definitely aftermarket with a switch panel. Don't even bother with the OE Chrysler stuff. First off, it's ancient at this point and modern wire is lighter/better. The factory starting/ignition/charging system is a real PITA, it's so much easier just to bypass all that crap. Ditch the bulkhead...

    Turning back the clock

Different ball ‘o wax. I went to MCACN for the first time this year and it blew me away. Everything is super high level. Never been to the traditional hot rod shows out west but I can guarantee that this show would not disappoint on any level. 'Ol Butch is alright, he'll take a picture with...

Considering Holley sniper EFI for my 1969 340. Thoughts from people who have that set up?

I think you are making the right choice. If you're not willing to put the time and money into it it would be an exercise in frustration. Spend the time and effort optimizing what you already have. Here's a story that seems typical of this scenario. A couple years ago one of my neighbors with a...

Considering Holley sniper EFI for my 1969 340. Thoughts from people who have that set up?

No clue but form my experience it's really not an issue in regards to any noticeable loss of performance or starting problems. Nothing like vapor lock... All OEs use in-tank pumps now so if heated fuel was a real concern for that application we'd be talking about something else here. Higher...

Considering Holley sniper EFI for my 1969 340. Thoughts from people who have that set up?

Agree with Joe, the Tanks, Inc. ones are a really nice deal. I bought their tank and pump in kit form for my '68 Coronet, it was great. It came with a 255lph pump which was plenty for my application. They offer a larger capacity pump if needed but you'd have to be making some power to...

Considering Holley sniper EFI for my 1969 340. Thoughts from people who have that set up?

Exactly. Not a huge deal but just something to be aware of. I regularly drove my Sniper-equipped Dodge on longer trips so it wouldn’t have been practical to stop every 30 miles to top off the tank. I was able to run it down to 1/4 tank but just had to be aware of inclines when it was that low...

Considering Holley sniper EFI for my 1969 340. Thoughts from people who have that set up?

After having done it, the only way I’d go would be a retrofit EFI fuel tank with an in-tank pump. The pump stays cool when submerged in fuel, it’s 10x as quiet and basically transfers little to no vibration through the chassis. Set it and forget it. I get it though, this stuff is not cheap...

Considering Holley sniper EFI for my 1969 340. Thoughts from people who have that set up?

Completely agree with this suggestion. Wish it was available in 2019 when I first made the switch, would have made my life much easier. I actually bought one recently to use with a Terminator X system but for various reasons it’s not compatible. I’d be willing to sell it if someone wants it.

Considering Holley sniper EFI for my 1969 340. Thoughts from people who have that set up?

I agree that initially there is a big time investment but that will diminish quickly if the user takes an active role in the tuning process. The tuning concepts are the same as they would be with a carbureted engine they’re just presented in a different format. That said, if you’re not...

Considering Holley sniper EFI for my 1969 340. Thoughts from people who have that set up?

I always say this but it makes little sense to run the Holley EFI without the Hyperspark ignition system. Being able to control the timing through the ECU software is a major benefit of the conversion to EFI. Without the timing control you will be leaving performance and drivability on the...

Why are classic 4 door sedans "disliked"?

Hell yeah! I like 2 most door wagons - Vegas, Falcons from the '60s and 150s, Ranch Wagons, etc. from the '50s. Not Pintos though... This one is killer. Big block tunnel ram. I've seen this one at the drags, it goes in the 10s.

Why are classic 4 door sedans "disliked"?

Your nephew can obviously interpret things however he chooses and if he wants a 4 door, that's great. For a kid that age to show interest in older vehicles is the best thing for the continuation of the hobby so by all means go for it. However, for the sake of argument, I'm going to respectfully...

    Run Stand or Engine Dyno

Video: How To Break-In A New Engine Without An Engine Dyno I think most of the pro-run stand replies here are fine and if that's what you have then go for it. Just be aware of the difference running an engine on a stand vs. breaking it in a dyno - the run stand will break in the cam (which is...

    Run Stand or Engine Dyno

Not sure what to tell you other than that's what you have to do if you do in fact heed those warnings. Sure it's a pain but it's better than yanking the motor out to re-ring it or ruining your expensive new headers. I know the feeling, I tend to heed those types of cover-your-*** warnings and...

That car is so quick off the line! No drama, just goes. The 'Vettes are moving off the line too but they are on a different level. Hoping a Chrysler product will be competitive enough to knock them down a rung next year. Saw the green RR at LVD two weeks ago, pretty impressive for what it...

The Great Pumpkin - '71 Duster

It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Fitting it's Halloween since I have a couple updates. I installed a Kirkey aluminum seat in the Duster today. With the cushion/cover the seat is about 13-14lbs. The seat floor brackets are probably a pound each? To finish the job I will need to install a...

Lebanon Valley NY- MoPars at the Valley 2024

Yeah, Mopars at the Valley has always been well attended in the past but what can you do, just seems par for the course with this kind of thing these days. At least this year’s event was more promising. Mopar Atlantic Nationals at ETown died a long, slow death, it was so lame at the end. Like...

    How about this for storage/shelving?

Thanks. yes, the bench was custom made. I got the table tops (36" x 96")through Grainger at my work. I had to cut the flange along the bottom edges to fit which was a PITA, it' not the best cutting job. I welded square tubing to the bottom so they would sit in the rack beams. the other goal was...
