    Cluth Pedal Linkage to Z-Bar

I could end up with the same situation once I get that far along. My car was apparently a conversion before I got it. The adjuster rod was lengthened with a piece of threaded dowel welded into the pivot end...rather shabby, but I guess it worked. I bought a new rod, but I haven't tried to...

    Cluth Pedal Linkage to Z-Bar

Another quick question. The clutch adjustment link has a rubber grommet that contacts the clutch fork. Next to that (on the adjusting nut side) there is a heavy steel washer with a flat to match the flat side on the adjusting rod. That washer has a flat side and a convex side. I assume that the...

    Cluth Pedal Linkage to Z-Bar

Thanks. I thought that was right, but I wanted to make sure I didn't need to flip it before I get any further along. I'm not going to use headers. It had headers on it when I bought the car. But looking at that cramped condition I decided to go back with stock Hi-Po manifolds. They are...

    Cluth Pedal Linkage to Z-Bar

I'm getting ready to install the Z-Bar and linkages on my '68 Dart 340, 4 spd. The clutch pedal linkage that goes through the firewall has a short crook in it on the engine bay end. Since I don't yet have the Z-Bar in place, does that crook go toward the clutch or does it go toward the fender?

Thanks. I was ambitious enough for all those years, but at 50 YO I was still very much into my career and family, raising 3 kids with my wife, putting them through school...just life. I would find time now and then to work on the car, but mostly NOT. When I retired, there were the family things...

Photo #1: A photo of a 35mm print from about 25 years ago when I disassembled my car. My son was about 19 YO at the time. I was about 50. Photo #2: About 2 weeks ago just before we re-installed the engine. He's now 44 YO. I'm 75. I had him pose for this photo.

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

With the engine in, I re-installed the steering cross link. I didn't loctite and torque the k-member bolts to the subframe when I installed it a while back because I didn't know what to anticipate when the engine went in. I wanted to allow for some wiggle room if I needed it in order to hit the...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

The factory used a pad to go between the body and the gas tank to prevent wear and rattle. When I installed my new tank, I cut off a few pieces of roofing felt paper that I had laying around and glued it to the tank. I also wedged a few pieces of neoprene into the space near the back of the tank...

Exhaust manifolds installed, car positioned, jack ready. I dropped the center steering link out to give us more room to maneuver. I'm ready for my help to show up tomorrow morning at 9:00, and we'll have the engine and trans installed. This 25-year project is finally starting to look like...

According to my daddy, that was the measure of class... it was either a "3-holer" or the pinnacle "4-holer". We only had a 1953 3-holer. That was in about 1957. We later upgraded to a 1955, but still only a 3-holer.

    Need Correct Linkage Info

Thanks guys. One of the swivels was on the wrong side of the tabs, but other than that everything fits like it's supposed to. Just one othe quick question: Is there any advantage to using the factory-style retaining clips in the rods as opposed to just using cotter pins?
