I’ve had all the above and went to a 50ton. I know not your question.
The truth is when using pipe or sockets or metal Be careful!
Metal can splinter like pipe nipes and split on the seams. You may not see it at first but when those seams break under pressure- they explode.
Metal shards fly...
No! It was for a blower motor for a rear defroster. You can cut out and fit like a 6”x9” speaker or a 5”x8” speaker but it was for a factory blower set up.
My barracuda has that set up but sorry I do not have any photos when it was last a part.
NOBODY knows what it means. Well, except it was a great marketing tactic to get more people to buy them. Like stripes on a car. Does not make it 1mph faster BUT it sure does sell cars.
Cold air issue (without seeing your van) is probably the dog house gasket leaking air. As for the valve- again we need more diagnostic help but if you apply vac to the nipple on the valve and it does not move then it’s bad. I just did the one on my 86 van. It leaked vac like mad. The system is...
Massey Ferguson tractor red is what I’ve used and it matches really nice. Tractor supply has it in their paint section.
Color only helps identify the year range but not much more than that.
I’ve stripped over 12 of these early abodies and never an under hood light.
There are a lot of people who resell parts and make them seem like they are must have items for your car. You need to know your car and not waste the money.
I bought my crimper on amazon and all the fittings I could ever want from summit. Hose too. The kits are technically universal. You need to build it your self.
14 hrs to strip down the roof on my recent project an 86’ Dodge van.
3 different color on the roof. My motivation… just keep in visioning the end and driving it.
Are they new or used?
I would use that offset bushing to either tuck them closer inward or out to avoid interference rubbing on the housing. I would normally say they are wider side inward toward the axle. But more info is needed.
Also note: you can make a single wire alternator with an adjustable voltage regulator mounted on the alternator. It senses the engine running and when the car is on high idle starts the charge. It stops when either the voltage demands are met or you shut off the engine. They are pretty good but...
So the air cleaner decal was on the passenger side at 9–10 o’clock on mine. Where the new one is now but un seen in the photo I posted above. It’s your car - put it anywhere you want. lol!
Thank you. Yes 66’ but I believe it should be the same. They were never perfect as the installers were moving quickly at that part of the assembly line or at the dealership level. I’ve never have gotten 100% confirmation where they originally were installed at. (Factory or dealer)
As for the ac...
Nope! That’s a part number for the housing. You need to open it up and look at the ring gear OR count the turns (search that up top. It’s been asked a bunch of times.)
If 70’s style either one is the same.
Earlier ones are one is grounded and one is +. It’s all in which voltage regulator you are using.
Ohm meter the tab (spade connector to brush) to alternator housing. If one is open (+) and one is 0.00 then that one is ground.
Funny I’ve been looking at them to strip the roof on my van. I bought a few of those 4-1/2” grinder paint strippers from a professional welding store. The ones that look like some sort of crazy wire with a coating. $18 each but if you let them do the work and just basically hold on - they seem...
Most drive shaft shops can get them new especially if you have the old one to take measurement.
Used- no grove in the shiney part where the seal or bushing made marks.
As you know check cap bores.
Straight is also good yokes are not bent out or in from over hammering.
Good luck.
Thanks. I’ve had a few so I know the issues well. I just don’t have one right now lol! My goal is to change the front bumper on my 80’s Dodge van to something with some character. And I like that look but trying to see if I need to add or subtract metal to make it fit right. I will have to...
Thank you very much.
I’m wanting to get rid of the bumper on my 80’s Dodge van and use a better looking bumper. Those measurements will help me a lot.
Hope your health improves John.
Joe
I’d call the manufacturer- dependent on build date you may need to either add the light harness or send this one back.
That year is tough for many things.
Good luck!
Not to take away from OP:
Does anyone know where to buy graphics that the maker will modify them for you to match say your engine and not a factory set up?
Sorry OP.
I own a welding shop (29years)and I am still using my miller 250 on 220vac
I have the miller spool gun. You need to run the wire feed really fast compared to steel. It’s about wire speed with aluminum not so much heat. Unless you’re trying to weld like 1/2” or thicker.
As for Chinese units-...
