I would probably say a full rail is needed. Look up on the top of the rail between the upper A arm mounts and it probably is rusted through there also.

You can straighten those. They usually got bent when towing or jacking.

The ball and trunion bolts up with 4 bolts flange to flange. The slip yoke just slides in the trans and is splined.

Are you looking for the original type with ball and trunion front joint of a slip yoke like 66 and newer.
