I have one that the number came back as a '57-'64 and I was told that it was basically a 742. Fresh4.10 but sadly, non sure grip Has a shiny gold anodized yoke on it looks freshly redone.

    Time to move the needle.....

I meant about being priced out of the game, trying to stay in the game and save a buck sort of thing, run what you bring, use what you have on hand, that sort of thing to be able to still stay "in it".....

    A518 auto trans. question

All 904s/500s used smaller converters than 727/518s. And I don't remember any 727 converters that were much smaller except for a race converter. There were 11" and 12" converters in 727s and 518s, over the years.

    A518 auto trans. question

The 500s are basically a "904 series trans (I know someone is gonna mention a 998/999) with OD" where a 518/46RH/E are ODs based off of the 727. I have the factory original 727 still in that 85, it is a lockup. That converter will directly interchange with a 518. Any converter that will fit a...

    A518 auto trans. question

My last Mopar OD trans overhaul is sitting in my 01 Durango. A 4wd 46 RE. I finally put it back in last weekend. Well 2 weekends ago. Last weekend I replaced the intake manifold plenum gasket. But I just drove it for the first time in 15 months last weekend after finishing that. I actually had...

    A518 auto trans. question

Yeah there is, but I know 3 Mopar dealership transmission guys that said "yeah I know.... But I've never measured that particular measurement and I've done more of those tranny's than I can ever remember to count, and haven't had a problem. Slap it together ". I actually went looking for the...

    A518 auto trans. question

A couple of years of the "RE" still had the Speedo gear like the older ones did. I think they went to the rear abs sensor doing Speedo drive duty started around 98-99. If you can find a 96-97 "RE" it should still have the regular Speedo drive. The newer ones also deleted the spline on the...

    A518 auto trans. question

I didn't think it would work from RE to RH or vise versa. From 2wd to 4wd no problem as long as both of them are the same/both RE or both RH. There's 2 tubes that come out of the tail for the RH that plug into the front housing (oil supply for the governor, the very thing that makes an RH an RH)...

Has anyone ever seen this band live?

Yup the arcada is a nice place. Been there a few times. Saw Marshall Tucker the last time there, another time I was in here for Alan Parsons project, saw steely Dan tribute band (Deacon Blues was their name) and a couple of others.

Timing cover corrosion, repair or replace?

I've taken them to a machine shop and had them ground flat again, so far the ones I have had that done to have only needed 0.010-0.12 removed, not enough to change belt alignment at WP pulley. For what it's worth EQ shows "reman" ones (or they used to) and that's exactly what they do with...

    I think I know the answer…

Member "My 68Barracuda" has done some molds of ports on these heads, I haven't seen him around here in a while. He had an actual flow bench in his garage for a while, his was at 10" not 28" like many. The head on my slant was actually flowed on that bench for ***** and giggles while he had it...

    I think I know the answer…

I'm not out for the last 0.001 of a second off of the 1/4 mile ET, my motor will probably never see the high side of 4000 rpm, so no/ I probably won't notice the difference.

    I think I know the answer…

Nope. There was a change around 67/68 that I remember, was always told to use 68 up head for better performance, which includes both drool tube and peanut head. It's in the articles section at the /6 site as well as in Dutra's book.... Not much difference in any of them. I think the drool...

Got these as a stock replacement, just the fact that they're 30 over should be a negligible effect on balance.... The whole point of this thread is that as long as it has to come back apart if there would be a better choice for what I'm wanting out of it....if not then great . Now's the time if...

    I think I know the answer…

If I didn't have a peanut head sitting here I wouldn't have had a problem running the drool tube head. But since I had a choice at the time, and knowing that the valves were the same and combustion chamber design was pretty much the same,it just seemed easier to run with what I did at the time...

I was out there in the garage yesterday. The pistons in the motor now are the h655cp.
