Pulled the shroud off the car and put the fans directly on the radiator. Been sick but took the car to breakfast and to see a couple buddies. Cooler day but the car ran 180-185 the whole time while doing some pulls, definitely a step in the correct direction.

Looking for a rear seat for a 70 duster in SoCal. Maybe you got one and you’re heading to fall fling? Have the top half but will buy both halves if necessary. Color not important.

I have a northern radiator with their SPAL fan/shroud combo. Very space limited so I had to get their smaller fans. I don’t want to cut the core support and move the radiator but it’s looking like I’ll have to.

It’s one of the ones on hamner, right by the DMV. This station has 87-91, diesel and E85.

Haven’t had the time to do anything about the over heating issue but did take the car out Saturday night for a short cruise. Had a friend from out of state visit so of course he needed a ride in it. My brother brought his barracuda out too.

Gotta buy another one and take her with you, that’s the only reasonable thing to do.

It really is a good car @TT5.9mag plus I got some parts for the duster out of it so it was a good trip in my eyes.

Same convertor, this is from the Sunday it went on the rollers. It’s currently a billet 3500 from TCS in it. I have something to try before ordering a convertor.

I’ve seen conflicting results from people, so I figured I’d ask around. Definitely a struggle to keep the car cool but I’m sure it’ll end up with an oil cooler regardless of the coolant temperature.

So who runs one? Any setups to avoid? Did you see a reduction in coolant temperature? Main reason I’m looking at an oil cooler is for a reduction in coolant temps. Packaging is an issue with my car but hoping someone can chime in on if it’s worth the effort or not. As always, thanks in advance.

In 16 years of ownership, this is the first time I’ve driven it to a gas station. Not the first attempt just the first time it made it. Noticed my shift light was set to 5200 (limiter is at 6500). Drove the car a little harder tonight and it seems a lot better. Lack of seat time and not paying...

The secret is combine the worst possible parts and throw a 4” fender exit into the mix.

That’s what I’ve been reading about it. Probably just throw some miles on the car cruising it and work bugs out of it and order a converter later this year. It has 29 miles on it with the turbo and I’m pretty sure 15 of them are from Sunday.

Going to see if filling the trans with John Deere Hy-Gard will help it out, I’m sure I’ll be ordering a convertor. I was high gear all over the limiter and saw 80mph. Car wasn’t skating. 27” tire and 3.73s so it should definitely have more mph.

Well, I can make all the excuses in the world but we left with a REALLY safe tune up in the car and it blows through the convertor. Made 493/527 on 14psi. Gonna try a few things or just order a convertor for it. It runs good, it didn’t break so I’m happy. Can’t thank @TT5.9mag enough for coming...

About 8 hours till it’s strapped to the rollers. I give it a solid 30% survival rate. Fresh oil, gonna toss plugs in it in the morning and swing for the fences on 12psi.

It would make the car way better but at the same time it desperately needs a tunnel ram and slotted mags.

You ever have one of those days you want to sell everything and quit? That was yesterday. The timing cover fought and fought and I was mentally done. I really can’t thank @TT5.9mag enough. He showed up and made sure the car got put back together, Mike you’re truly a legend amongst men.

Slowly but surely chipping away on this, plus trying to get the dart ready for the upcoming dyno day. Both should be drivers in the next month.

Don’t do what I did with the stainless ties. Feels real good when they go under your nail and make you bleed.

Well, it looks like we’re aiming for August 13th to strap it down and make some pulls. Couple small things to button up and we’ll see what it does. Famous for a day photo because this thread is worthless without pictures.

If you gotta trim them I’d try to find the thread the use on them and sew around the cut, they might come apart if you don’t. Yeah, it wasn’t cheap but I had a summit gift card so I figured I’d get something semi useful for once.

I used DEI for the wrap, their titanium stuff, so far I’ve only done the cross over mainly to keep a little heat from the oil filter and lower rad hose. I’m either special or their ties for the wrap are tragically bad and you don’t get a lot of them. Ended up using a hose clamp on the vertical...

Little teriyaki and you got yourself some jerky. Yeah the turbos get a little spicy. Just did my monthly heat soak on dart.

I’m hoping it’ll run decently and survive. If not there’s a decent enough bottom end waiting for it. There will be some videos of it. This is the perfect weather to wrap exhaust in. The heat really helps me not get irritated haha. Hope the arm is alright buddy
