I have a buddy with a 1964 Ford Falcon with a 170 cid 6cyl three on the tree. He’s wanting to put an automatic overdrive transmission in it. Are there any direct bolt ups for that engine? Or maybe a better question is, What would it take to put an overdrive transmission on that 170?

Cool car, very interesting power brake set up. Curious if that is/was common practice.

They’re 4150’s so they’re mounted sideways. There is no fuel coming out of the vents as I’ve run it without air cleaners during some of the runs and no sign of that. Fuel pressure is 5.5 so that’s probably not an issue. I’ll level the car out and see where the floats sit.

Another little thing I’ve noticed. On some left hand turns it has a slight stumble as I accelerate out of the turn. My thought is that the jets are uncovered as the fuel is pushed away from the jets in the turn. My initial reaction was to put jet extensions and notched floats in the primary...
