    1 way to check if it is the wrong bushing is to knock it out then put the fibre spacer on the pump support then the front drum, slide a vernier calliper or thin rod down to the fibre washer to see how wide a bush will fit ,if you fit a wide bush to wear a thin bush should be it will hit the pump...

    Looks like someone has put a thin bushing into a wide drum the circlip slot is cut high so it can take the extra thin clutches & steels The pump support looks like a wide unit so i would change the drum bearing to suit

    I have them on promaxx ,Edelbrock performa,Edelbrock Victor & cast J 340 also a set of EQ but they were ported ,the gasket is pretty close to an exact match to the port i think large port the gasket hole is 1 5/16" x 2 1/4" i always leave for a day or 2 for the silastic to set on the China wall

    Also found that problem with the grey edelbrock gaskets when they dry it leaves a white crystal type beads on the edge of the gasket since using the blue felpro MS 90109 haven't had the problem maybe because they have an aluminium core

    I would try plugging the oil galleries on the 2 pedestal's the oil comes up through then running for a moment & checking the pressure it may be bleeding off somewhere other than the rocker lubrication such as cam or lower bearings ,how many miles on the engine
