Are you talking about washers or shims? If you look at Dr Diff's minimum install kit it includes everything you need, including pinion nuts and washers as well as the shims which you need to set the front bearing pre load. It also has shims that go under the back bearing to set the pinion depth...

I'm looking to put this 904 transmission into my 74 Duster. Just in front of tail shaft there is an empty threaded hole. What is it for and what is missing? A threaded plug, for band adjustment? Thanks

I may have skipped that and went right to the pictures. I didn't see it mentioned or portrayed in the video either. I don't recall seeing it done before on the few gauge clusters I've "worked" on, is this standard practice? Before I put everything back together I want to make sure to do it...
