    Legendary Interiors?

more than one local upholstery shop has said to go to legendary to me for the covers, they'll rebuild the seat and install them, partly because I only want the front seat, and one of the vinyls is no longer available (the shallow elk light blue metallic), but reproduced in special runs by...

    73 Dart Rear Lighting troubleshooting

FWIW, I was having issues with my duster's taillights, with the right rear brake and flasher not working. turned out to be the turn signal switch, the hot for the brake/4way flasher goes through the turn signal switch.

best shocks for a daily driver 73 dart

shouldn't. the air is just a spring. BUT the shock mounts on these cars were never designed to carry the load of the vehicle weight on them, only transient dampening loads. if you had air shocks or those coil over helper shocks, be sure to inspect your shock mounts. when we bought my car...

best shocks for a daily driver 73 dart

I agree matching shocks to spring rates is important. I rebuilt my duster's suspension 2 years ago, I'm not made of money, and I got a good deal on a set of NOS .92" torsion bars, & some used 6 leaf HD springs to replace my .85" bars and saggy butt 5 leafers. all new ball joints and suspension...

NEW SLANT 6 OWNER NEED HELP

my '76 duster slant6, A833OD had a converter from the factory, but no air pump, federal emissions, though, YMMV for cali emissions. I stick with Purolator or Wix filters for oil filters. and usually use Valvoline 10-30 conventional in my car. if it's sat for a long while, you might want to go...

    Replacement manual steering box

my car has the 24:1 stock. parking lots aren't bad at all as far as effort, but there is a lot of sawing on the wheel to go lock to lock (I want to say it's like 5 full turns)....it's a little vague on center going down the highway, but doesn't wander, especially if you used the offset UCA...

    Exhaust manifold outlet diameter?

hughes shows it on their website for less $$ ($411), but when I threw it in a cart, it wanted to charge me $260 for shipping....https://www.hughesengines.com/Index/products.php?browse=category&level0=SS0gU2xhbnQgNiAoMTcwLTIyNSBjLmkuIDE5NjAtMTk4Nyk=&level1=RXhoYXVzdA==&partid=34275

    Exhaust manifold outlet diameter?

I've been looking at that one too....only problem is it's $485 before freight and tax charges.....if he has the ability to weld, and picking up a used take-off exhaust, he can probably build something equivalent in OEM heavy gage stainless for less $$

    Exhaust manifold outlet diameter?

if you want cheap mandrel bends, may want to go to a U-pull-it with a calipers and a cordless sawzall. most newer cars have factory 419 stainless mandrel bent exhaust. I used sections of the tailpipe from a dodge ram (was 3") when I built the exhaust for my old 5th ave 20 years ago....my '11...

    18" Wheel help

I've got a spreadsheet based on dimensions I took off of my duster that I can plug different backspace/offsets and tire widths. do you know the actual drum-face-to-drum face axle width? it looks like for a +30mm (1.18") offset rim, a wheel mount face to wheel mount face measurement of 58.5"...

Security panel painted side in trunk for early barracuda’s

my duster with the fold down rear seat originally had a crinkle finish paint on the trunk side, when I remade it back in the 90's because I had foolishly cut holes in the original for speakers (hey I was 16) that's what I used. I had to re-remake it last year because it had to be sacraficed to...

    Let's see your 198 Slant!

1 block (RG only) vs 2 blocks 198/225 pistons are common, also, aren't they? the longer rod offsets the shorter stroke so the pistons aren't 1/2" in the hole

    Front tire size

that's an additional 1/2" positive offset compared to typical RWD mopar rims (typical is ~+1/4" positive offset, 6.5" with 4.5" backspace is 3/4" positive offset). on the plus side is if it's normally the front corner of the wheelwell opening that's the limitation, the additional positive...

    Back space help please!!

"frontspace" the same doesn't matter. 1) the tire centers side to side on the rim. 2) the rim mounts to the car based on the position of the wheel mount face. 3) offset of the wheel mount face to wheel centerline will determine clearance. the interface between the wheel and the car moved...

    Back space help please!!

no, it won't, because were the wheel mounts to the car is in a different spot on the wheel. one mounts at the centerline of the wheel, the other is 1/2" inboard drawing poorly in ascii the cross section: 8" wheel, 0 offset TTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TT TT TT...

    Back space help please!!

nope, you need to look at the wheel mount face. the 8" (bead seat to bead seat width, 9" overall width), 4.5 backspace wheel in 0 offset. the 7" (bead seat to bead seat, 8" overall width) with 3.5" backspace is -1/2" offset (0 offset would be 4" BS). that will push the outside of the tire...

    Back space help please!!

I prefer offset. that tells you where the wheel mount face is. a 8" rim is 9" wide overall, so 4.5" backspace is the same as 0 offset (the wheel mount face is perfectly centered in the wheel, 4.5" of the wheel outboard, 4.5" of the wheel inboard). a 7" rim is 8" wide overall, so 4" backspace...
