Car has been running at 180 . I was idling in line at at the drive thru at in n out burgers at 7pm on a Friday (~25 min)85-90 degrees outside and it didn’t see past 195 degrees .

Update . The way I made it work was I used a slant six fan shroud but flipped it upside down that seemed to do the trick..The gap from the shroud to the radiator went from 1.5” to about .5” maybe even less . I can live with that …

Yep! It should be touching . My issue was the pick up tube was screwed on the tightest while still being orientated the way it should be on the pan but the pan rails were about .5 inch away from mating to the block hence why I bent the goose neck on the pick up tube. Now the P.U tube sits flush...

I did have to bend the pick up tube just a little at the goose neck to make it fit just right.

I used the new melling oil pump with the original pick up tube it came with and will be using the a body oil pan it came with as well.
