Not saying you messed up, but it sounds like you assembled the brakes incorrectly. What you mention can happen if the Star wheels are reversed (as noted) or the front and rear shoes are not installed correctly or reversed (unlikely), or if the wrong springs were used in the wrong places...

SlipPlate is the best. It will look good for a long time and, as noted, you can easily touch it up. The only negative I can think of is it can rub off and leave black marks on hands/clothes etc. Oh and of course it only comes in one color (Graphite). LOL RGAZ

Here is what my 73 has. Looks like the warning switch dist block. I disabled the light anyway when I rebuilt the dash so I guess it will not matter.

This is what I was going to do, but the group says mount it AFTER the Dist block which would put it way down on the rail. Could the Dist block be messing with your setup which limits your adjustability? I thought it was just passages to split the pressure.

Stock car was 4 wheel drum and the Dist block looks like just a dist block with no prop valve in it (no side entry port) and with my recent test drive (with front disc) it was rear brake heavy (like badly) so I am sure it has no proportioning ability at all. But yes, I get it.

73 duster front disc conversion. Forgot to get the prop valve and clearly need one. Rear was swapped to 8-3/4 from b-body so do I use the stock Duster prop valve I can get from Classic or Dr Diff or should I get an adjustable? Is there a better prop valve option maybe a B-body? Thoughts? RGAZ
