    "Something in the Orange"

Depending on the sun angle, it’s probably a “10 footer”, lol! A trained eye would find things in the body and paint that shouldn’t be. I’ve been advancing the timing and cleaning under the hood here and there. Found a burnt spot on the No.1 plug wire (replaced) and stopped at the scale shack...

    I'm Wrong

Stay away from Dusters for awhile though. Hagerty seems to believe that the show on Max drove prices up “32%”. Recently A lot of blacktop in Missouri and so little time Dan….

    Help ASAP

Welcome to the world of old car ownership! One of the nuances of having one AND driving it is that stuff is going to need replacing. That’s true even when the parts are correct and in properly. I only get around 5k miles per year on mine and it constantly needs something! Shops around here are...

    Guns, Dogs and Blades QnA

My very first hunting season was just after breaking my (right) collarbone. I had been so excited to go anyway, I shot my first squirrels and grouse with grandpa’s Springfield 12 gauge, LEFT handed! A funny skill that paid dividends for pheasant. Hunting w/o a dog in standing corn, I could...

    "Something in the Orange"

….yep! So the windshield is still fine but I didn’t treat the trim properly AT ALL! This was 2018 and I did some stuff to make the trim hang on then. I was cleaning the car up for the local car show this month and noticed the trim was peeling off at the top. I had to excavate the trim from a...

    68/9 barracuda windshield stainless clips

My 2018 windshield replacement didn’t include an in-depth trim replacement chapter. Never figured out why it never sat right. Who’d a thought that there would be 3 different clips on it! Trim pops out on 108mph 1/4 mile pass if’n you left it “proud”. Air must have snuck in from the front that...

    Boat question

Looks awesome! I wonder if a scaled down version of a cut plug rig would work for both Chinook and walleye. Hmmm. I run “deep six” divers at 2.5ish miles per hour to troll without running that down rigger. The largest ones will get you down quite a ways…

    People suck

Ditto! A guy was trimming a tree with one of those mowing decks mounted to a shovel boom next to the road as I drove by (honking) last week. Last night followed a dude with a fart can that kept popping it until it exploded. Chunks everywhere. Ya can’t win, drive junk, repair, paint, repeat…...

    Travel tools

I have a little scissor jack for swapping tires at the track. Works fine and weighs a heck of a lot less than a floor jack. I carry the fold up reflector triangles too. I figure if they are on the cell phone when they hit the first one, they'll be lookin' up before they get to me.... good...

    Converter stuck in cranksaft!

I'm currently researching the ominous A833 conversion and couldn't remember the I.D of that SCAT I put in there. so 5 years ago I glued some 60 grit inside this bit and reamed that torque converter so it wouldn't hang up so bad next time... (carefully not to engage those teeth into my pump)...

    "Something in the Orange"

The hunt for oil leaks continues… Always a spot under the bell housing so it’s a bit of a relief that it is dry behind the dust shield. (Not the rear main seal). I found little leaks around the bolts on each valve cover, the oil filter, my pcv valve, and a broken o ring on my catch can. (That...

Car was running hot, then won't start

...a bit. Tried a lot of things but it always started again AFTER the gas cooled off! What thermostat do you use? I understand that there is a 195* option so that’s not a problem. Mine will creep up too if I am not moving for several minutes >15. It likes to be in N for those longer periods...

    "Something in the Orange"

Thanks Mr Steve. My wife was trying to get footage of the launch and keep the rest of our “pit crew” in order. I grabbed a frame from the second time slip. This is the first picture of the theme where the front actually comes up, the back doesn’t squat a bunch, and the tires aren’t just spinning!
