Illumin8s flashback LED running lights/turn signals

I made a short video of the Illumin8s flashback turn signals on my 68 Dart. I've got them on a switch so I can turn off the daytime running lights if I want. I really like the look.

Something "CATCHING" Down the Steering Column

Is there a bearing on the bottom of the steering column?

I'm looking for a part and can't find it.

Andy from AR Engineering posts on Moparts. I'm not sure if he posts here or not. I'm sure he would let you know what it takes to make them....if they are no longer being made.

The front bumper and front spoiler are installed. That spoiler from Spoilers by Randy looks awesome on there. https://postimg.cc/JGLKzsg5] https://postimg.cc/D4qgchWG] https://postimg.cc/146JSGWz]

    68 GT convertible project

I'm kind of leaning towards a 1" lowering block and then hoping the springs will settle a little. It looks better when you are seeing it from a higher vantage point. The wheels look tucked up into the wheel well more. I don't like lowering blocks but a 1" block might not be the end of the world.

    68 GT convertible project

The last few month have been "1 step forward and 2 steps back". I filled the radiator with water in preparation to start the engine. Almost as soon as I started pouring the water in, it started leaking out. I messed up when I cut the lower rad hose to fit and it was leaking at the water pump...

68 sway bar on lowered suspension

I read some posts that said a sway bar should be level to be most effective. So that's what I was trying to do but it doesn't look like this setup allows that.

68 sway bar on lowered suspension

I found a couple pictures online that show the bar running uphill even at stock ride height. Maybe that is just how the earlier setup is?

68 sway bar on lowered suspension

OK, I've got another issue to work through as I get closer to finishing up my 68 Dart. I'm using the 68 style K-member, front mount sway bar and LCAs. With the front end lowered to the ride height I want, the sway bar is pointing way up in the air. Orienting the bar level would put it below...

    Offset shackles hitting upper mount...

So, last weekend a friend of mine came over and we pulled the rear end and springs out of the car. I double checked the spring part# and they are the #14 springs. The front spring eye was moved to the upper hole in the front mount and the offset shackles were reoriented correctly. Then we...

    Offset shackles hitting upper mount...

No idea what the tire size is. The wheels are 15x5.5 or 6. They are just on the car so I can roll it around. I had to put washers between the wheel and rotor so they would clear the calipers. I don't even have the rotors on the front yet. The 14" wheels are just bolted to the hub. I don't...

    Dual position front spring hanger

The bolt head and the perch hole are tapered. The bolt head basically sits flush with the side of the perch. When bolted to the body, the perch is against the frame. I can post a picture of it once it's off. I'm leaning towards just drilling a hole through the frame. All it needs is a hole...

Here is how it is right now. From the center of the axle to the quarter panel lip is about 10-1/2".

    Dual position front spring hanger

I thought about that. My father-in-law has a lathe but doesn't have the broaching tool to do it. I guess I could tack weld the bolt head to the spring hanger. That would hold it in place.

    Dual position front spring hanger

How critical is it to tighten the front spring eye bolt with weight on the suspension? Here's why I ask... The Dr Diff 1/2" spring relocation kit uses a front spring hanger with 2 mounting bolt holes on it. The lower hole is for stock ride height and the upper hole is to lower the car. The...

    Offset shackles hitting upper mount...

It's got the "0" arch MP oval track springs on it. I assumed "0" arch would mean the springs would be basically flat and would end up lower then stock. Not the case I guess. The back of the spring still has an arch to it and it's sitting a lot higher than I want.(probably stock height) I'm...

    Offset shackles hitting upper mount...

No, I just installed the offset shackles upside down like an idiot. I thought they were symmetrical but one end is longer before the angle starts. I just have to flip them around. The springs I have on the car sit way too high right now anyway. I need to put the front spring eye in the upper...

Stock 8-3/4 housing perch to perch is 43" correct? Dr Diff's website says 42" for the spring offset kit...

They are upside down. Now I feel stupid. I thought they were symmetrical but they aren't. I guess sometimes you just need another set of eyes on a problem. Thanks...

Dr Diff 1/2" spring relocation kit on a 68 Dart convertible. Both outer offset shackles hit the rear shackle mount. The car hasn't been driven but it has been trailered to and from the body shop like this. The rear end perch to perch dimension is confirmed at 42". Center of leaf spring to...

The radiator/shroud/overflow tank and all the hoses are installed. I painted the front of the radiator black so it wouldn't be visible through the grill. I also got the trans cooler lines made with AN fittings that connect the hard line to the radiator and external cooler. I routed the trans...

The front hood trim is installed and fit pretty nicely. The attachment nuts end up being really close to the inner hood lip and I couldn't get a standard 1/4" socket on them to tighten them up. I had to take a cheap off brand socket and grind it to make the outside wall thickness thinner so it...

    Cowl area

Good timing on this post. I'm assembling my Dart after getting it back from the body shop. During the cut/buff process, some compound found it's way down into the cowl. It's really noticeable. There is obviously some overspray down in there too that doesn't look the best. I was wondering...

    68 GT convertible project

I took a 2 year break from working on the Dart. In those 2 years I built a garage addition onto my existing garage. I work for a lumber yard that builds roof/floor trusses and wall panels. I designed the garage roof so I can install a hoist some day and a coworker designed the wall panels...

68 Dart stainless trim clip installation

Here was the issue. The metal was thicker in certain places which made the clip stick way out from the body on the inside. If I would have left it that way, I think the convertible top would have rubbed on the sharp edge of the clip. I ended up grinding down the inside lip in some spots which...

68 Dart stainless trim clip installation

Looking for a little guidance on installing the clips for the stainless trim that goes around the convertible top at the back. It's extremely nerve wracking pushing those clips on over new paint. It would be disastrous if the paint chipped in a spot that isn't covered by the trim. Are you...

    Indy Aerohead

If you use them, I would have them looked over by a local machine shop first. I bought a set of rebuild 318 heads from Aerohead from that timeframe and they were all messed up. While priming the engine I couldn't get oil to one rocker bank. The oil feed hole in that head was plugged. A...
