    383 new rebuilt starting issue

I understand his reasoning. Would hate to pull an engine only to find out that your inspection cover was hitting flexplate bolt. But if you’re finding metal in the oil it has to come apart . I have spent the last 3 weeks trying to isolate an engine vibration in my new 408 . Changed pinion...

    383 new rebuilt starting issue

Only so many things could create grinding noise. Balancer to timing cover , timing chain if yo used thick headed bolts for cam plate maybe , torque converter/ flex plate rubbing on inspection cover, dipstick hitting crank , maybe rockers if you forgot a spacer , missing bearing shell , rod on...

    Pushrod opinion

To clarify… you are saying that most all cup style adjusters oil thru the adjuster ? Not that most adjusters are cup style . It never occurred to me that I had to line up the feed holes . Which is probably why I am not getting as much oil flow as I would like on my W2 heads with cup style...

I may be wrong but does this rule apply when you are using a cup style adjuster ?

Everyone else asks, (512 build) why not "ask the forum", lol

I have driven a Hell Cat and while impressive it still weighs 4600 # s. I have witnessed multiple well tuned muscle cars eat them . I sold a 2019 Acura NSX to a guy and watched it outrun a Hell Cat down the 1/4 . The NSX was not designed for drag racing and still beat it . I will add that...

Oh yeah ! I had my 70 Charger to 145 once ( calculated by rpm & gear) and it was floating.

    My 69 340 Swinger with a 4” crank and a 246/250 on a 108 will eat a Hellcat . Don’t see what the issue is.

    Building a 77 motorhome 440

I had a New yorker Short block refeshed with template ported 906s , 6 pak , headers and a small solid roller . It made505 hp. A stroker with a better port job , good single plane and a more aggressive cam would easily hit 600.

    505 Dyno Results

Who runs Westsides Dyno now? I had Frank in Nampa Dyno my 408 . He even had a set of W2 dyno headers with sensors in every tube . Take your truck to Woodburn and it will feel totally different. I like how clean you left it .

Trick flow 240 review along with flow number comparison to other aluminum heads

92b … maybe you fat fingered the diagree icon . But if not where were all the Hemi eating bigblock Chevies in 1966-1971? Hell … how many could outrun a 440-6 ? At the time the 915 heads were appropriate for the cam profiles , compression ratios , weight and gearing of daily driven cars . The...

    New roller cam...

Lol.. I know that . But I do believe hyd flat cams and lifters are not what they used to be. Or maybe it’s just the agressive lobes and higher spring pressures.

    New roller cam...

Well … a slant might have #150 lbs of spring pressure so it’s not really stressing the lobes . But the more aggressive cams that most guys are running today will require stouter springs.

    New roller cam...

I’m not full of money . Thats why I opted to go roller from now on . The cost of 2+ cams failing on a rebuild is more than the cost of a mid level roller set up . I opted to build a 5.9 after several cam failures . shoulda done it from the getgo ! Would have saved me an easy $1000 . I...

    500+ horse 440

I would not have guessed that much …. Wow ! My 70 Charger scaled 3900 with full trim and a 440. That car ran 12.30s @ 111 mph in Seattle. Nothing more than stock bottom end , 906s with MP porting templates , Hooker headers , 6 pak , and a .550 solid roller cam. 3.55 gears….
