    Dial indicator- best value/ quality

Nice thing about digital is that it doesn’t matter what angle I am looking at it from . And my old eyes aren’t as good at reading small gauges . But I agree with your assessment.

    Breakdown Engine hoist?

My hoist is like that and I take it apart to store or transport whenever I need it. Not a lot of work . Maybe 10 nuts and bolts. Take a picture of it so you remember what goes where until you have done it enough to memorize.

How high should I make my ceiling in my new shop,,,10 feet or 12 feet

I installed lifts for a living for a few years . 12’ at the minimum. If you ever need to work on a truck you will need 12’ . And when you sell the home it will pay for the extra cost . Remember you have to walk below the lift to get in the lower car …. 12’ will give you plenty of head room ...

    Travel tools

Sounds like an awesome trip ! 383s are very efficient and when paired with 2.9 gears it should cruise at 80 and get decent mileage. First thing I would suggest is start a thread which includes your route and connect with members along the route that could help with repairs, parts and even...

    Anyone own a Yeswelder ?

Do I need to change any settings for 110 vs 220 ? I have 220 but sometimes only 110 is available. Manual say voltage/ wire speed button will also access amps… Mine only toggles thru volt and wire speed button. Watched a video that went thru that basic settings but he skipped amp adjustment...

    Anyone own a Yeswelder ?

The manual sucks as does the Hieroglyphic read out. I did figure out that the U is actually a V. So I now have voltage and wire speed figured out. Which is all I need for what I’m doing at the moment.. Thanks guys ! I am a bit of a retard when it comes to manuals I need things literal.

    Anyone own a Yeswelder ?

Ok …. Which is which ? bbt = ? r in = ? Stp = ( trigger mode ?) ArL = ? Ind =? ( induction?) Maybe if I was experienced with multiple welders I would know but Angela was perplexed as well . But she is most likely using Millers and Lincoln the vast majority of the time…

    Anyone own a Yeswelder ?

Yes .. I was scrolling through the menu. I guess if one is an experienced welder you might be able to guess what they mean . Obviously people are able to use this welder successfully… it just doesn’t make sense to me. Seems like they could use acronyms that are easier to decipher.

    Anyone own a Yeswelder ?

I did for some of those readouts . My daughter is a professional welder and didn’t know what the readouts meant. I wish I could run a bead like she can ! Als I am in Boise and she is in Denver .

    Anyone own a Yeswelder ?

I bought a Yeswelder 205DS a few years ago because it got great reviews for an inexpensive welder. Problem is that I can’t understand what the settings readout means ! It’s jibberish ! I am beginner welder but understand the wire feed speed and amperage settings need to be correct. Whot know...

Seeking advice on how to extract broken lug bolts

in your case this may have been a Lefty Tighty application…. Lol You could have a pilot hub made in which the nose fits inside the lug hole to keep it centered and a pilot hole in the center of that to guide a left hand bit and keep it from walking towards the threads .

Seeking advice on how to extract broken lug bolts

Ive done this to extract a broken shift lever screw on my KTM . I had a pilot hub machined to keep it centered . That bolt is identical to the hub caps on my 1993 Mazda b2600i 4x4. Which leads me to believe it is a widely used fastener for hubs .

    Cheap lifts?

4” is fine for a 9k lift . Might want to epoxy the anchor bolts just to be safe . Is this newer concrete or old nasty stuff ? Ive seen floors that were pretty iffy .

    Cheap lifts?

Pretty easy . We could install one in a few hours . But we did many and knew where all the parts went . You will need a hammer drill and a bit . Probably 3/4”…. make sure you place it in a spot that allows for front and rear overhang , room for your tool box etc.
