Tire shop over torqued lug nuts (1969 Dart). Should I redo it?

I bought 3” bull nose studs for my Dart and sorted out a set of lugs nuts from my lug nut bin that appeared to fit . I couldn’t get them off even with my impact ! Local tire guy/ drag racer informed me that there are metric lug nuts with almost the same pitch . Turns out that I chose some...

I don’t recall if I got mine from WVs but I have a set for my 68 Fastback as well and they fit without modifying anything.

    need more tire somehow

Daily driver? If not go with the Wheel Vintique 15x8” and 255/60-15 drag radials . I have that combo on my 69 340 4sp and hook well as long as I don’t drop the clutch at 5000 rpms . 500+ hp and 500 ft-lbs of torque. And you have more room in your car .

BF Goodrich radial T/A white letters

Most white wall/lettering will turn colors if exposed to the elements. Just clean and repaint the lettering . I just can’t pay that price for a mediocre tire .

BF Goodrich radial T/A white letters

Sweet car ! I like that and all previous generations. I know of a 72 that has 40k on it and could be had cheap . Very tempted to…. Really nice condition but it’s an L42 car . I think I could get it for 9k .

Anyone Use 275/60-15 BFG TAs with Cragar Series 61C Cragar SS on Their Duster?

I was mocking BFG T/A‘s….they are an old design that are rock hard . I get better traction with 205/70-14 Michelins and my brother just put stock size bias plys that are far smaller than his BFGs and was amazed at how much better the bias plys grip . T/As are show car tires. Not performance tires.

Anyone Use 275/60-15 BFG TAs with Cragar Series 61C Cragar SS on Their Duster?

just run a set of 195/70-14 of a decent brand radial and get the same traction as the 275/60 BFG T/As … lol. Sorry but those tires are only for looks .

    Drag radials

I run regular tires on the street and save my MTs for the strip. But I drive my cars on the street nearly every nice day . Cheaper in the long run .

Man that is a great looking car ! My 68 was an original Black/Black car but I don’t have the patience for perfect body work and it’s too damn hot out here for black . White is forgiving and cool !

205/70-14s I am not saying the 215/65-15s won’t work but am curious about clearance before I pull the trigger on tires

Make sure to turn wheels stop to stop. Its that the tire may rub fender while turning.

14 x 5.5 tire choice same size all around

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BLHDWJH?tag=fabo03-20 I have been running these on some of my cars . Modern tread design bites much better than the old school BF T/As . I run Michelins on the Barracuda but they are not budget friendly.

Tire question. Just simple bottom line

Remember that too wide of tire for the rim will effect how the tire performs. And a narrower high quality tire with a good rubber compound and tread pattern will outperform a wide one with hard compound and shitty tread pattern . If you are only concerned about the look then go for the widest .

Small Bolt Pattern Tire Options (14in. steelies)

Post a pic of the rim near the bead . That will tell us what width rim you have . 14x5.5s are noticeably deeper there .

Small Bolt Pattern Tire Options (14in. steelies)

How wide are your rims ? A smaller modern tire like a Michelin will give you better traction than a big tire with hard compound and old school tread pattern . Plus they are lighter , quieter , ride better and better mpg.
