    Early A-Bodies

Same here. Before I tore my 65 Barracuda down for restoration, I drove it around town a few months, after I bought it. Everywhere I stopped it was, "what is that? I've never seen one of these before. How old is it? Where did you get it? What a cool looking car!" The shape of mine was similar to...

1971 Duster exhaust smell in cabin after new muffler and tail pipe

You need to buy a universal tail pipe hanger while you are at it. Too much pipe without a hanger, even before the extension. However, I did go back and look, I believe there is a hanger that can be seen in one of the pics.

1971 Duster exhaust smell in cabin after new muffler and tail pipe

I would damn sure take that "shoddy" work back to the "jack leg" that did it. That is just so wrong to do something like that and give it back to the customer...and get paid for it to boot!

    AC seals

I'm replacing the compressor in my wife's Dodge Caliber. I went to several parts places looking for new seals. The new compressor didn't come with any. The dealer wanted 30.00 + shipping (each) for three washer seals with a vulcanized O-ring. (see pic.) He showed me the ones on their computer...

How to open up rocker arm oil passages.

Well done! Most people start one and never finish. We had a Variez that was donated to the Aviation School (South Arkansas University) where I taught for 12 years. It had 4 different owners before we got it. I retired in 2014 and it still looks about the same. My tail wheel endorsement is...

How to open up rocker arm oil passages.

.032 will work, but you will have to make your drill wire shorter, as it will want to bend easier. Use a good air gun with a rubber tip and at least 90 psi to blow out the oil ports. Norm BTW, what kind of homebuilt was it. Did you finish it? Fly it?

How to open up rocker arm oil passages.

I have an abundance of it, due to me being an aircraft mechanic and repair shop owner. It's referred to as "safety wire." I use it for a lot of things on my motorcycles and cars. BTW that was a typo on my behalf. It's .041 not .049, you could use .051 also. Safety Wire - Stainless Steel - 1 Lb...

How to open up rocker arm oil passages.

When I built my /6, I took a piece of .049 stainless wire about three inches long and hit one end (about an 1/8") with a hammer on my little anvil. That made the wire flat. I chucked the wire up in my hand drill, clamped the rocker down and used the drill and wire like "rotor-rooter." Norm
