    early a-body (64-66 cuda or valiant) exhaust - H or X

On my 66 Wagon I did an x-pipe right under the slip yolk. Its all 2.25" and running Jones brand magnaflow rip offs. Less noise than my catless neon at idle but makes plenty of noise at WOT. Good gains down low for me coming from manifolds and 3" single.

    Timing set woes

This was the top of the line Cloyes ($120) 10-years ago Im assuming something with the cam to crank centerline, I put it on the 273 and the slack became less... It didnt go away but its significantly less. The brand new parts store stocker I had is on the 318 and it still has a decent...

    Timing set woes

It still ran fine, made enough power to do 40mph stab-n-steer sessions, had good idle. A rear main leak and a fuel issue (partly sheared off woodruff for the fuel pump eccentric as it turns out) is the reason for swapping motors.

    Timing set woes

Pirating the double roller set off my 318 for my 273 build and got down to it and found what seems to be quite a bit of slop. Maybe Im wrong, but the thing only has 5-6,000 miles on it. Safe to use?

Cut/reweld cheap headers for better fitment?

I cut up a generic pair of 67-up headers and a drivers 5.2/5.9 ram/dak header and worked them into an early-a. Im not a big fan of headers anymore. I tucked them up AS CLOSE as I could and they still scrape, I cant ever get them to seal for any length of time and they wrap around both torsion...

    273 solid Crower cam opinions

idle is 900rpm in neutral, same longblock ran 14.6@97 in my 66 'S' never had it running right in the Valiant during race season and never had the chance to get a clean pass out of it. 318 with .060 off the deck, hogged out #302's, and a cast smog intake with a 600 Holley. Now it has an oil...

    273 solid Crower cam opinions

The thought was more LSA would build dynamic compression and for it to not have a super choppy idle. I never really payed any attention to the actual overlap. It was $40 BNIB at a swap meet so i scooped it up with that thought.

    273 solid Crower cam opinions

Id be pirating the set out of my 318 thats atleast 10-years old, however it only has MAYBE 5000-miles on it. Its their old top-O-the-line double roller. Smoother idle than the mopar '759 in my 318 but not as pathetically small as the stock commando cam. This cam has more LSA than the '759 and...

    273 solid Crower cam opinions

Putting together a 273 for mostly street use I picked this cam to take advantage of the solid valvetrain I have and with the thought of a smoother idle and good mid-range power. Anyone run this cam before? http://www.crower.com/mopar-273-360-...m-278-fdp.html Dur @ .050” Lift: 229°/229°...

    1966 Plymouth Valiant Wagon......Scary Canary

So little update....I wound up taking the shifter class bracket at Woodburn this past year in my daily. This was simply because the 318 in the Valiant came down with a rear main seal hemorrhage (couple quarts in 10-miles) and a low oil pressure issue. Im tired of it, its been one thing after...

    'chirping' 318

Im having an issue with an off idle chirping noise, almost like the flexplate/converter bolts are loose....but they are in fact tight. It does it in any gear as well. Engine has oil in the pan and its getting to the rockers. Pulls 15" of vacuum. The noise is still there with the alt/water...
