I need some information about tie rod end construction

What's the "both" you're talking about? A tie rod only has one ball/socket. A new one should be tight and hard to swivel, but swivel-able. A used one should be tight and free to swivel. A junk one will have slop in it. I think you're seeing the bushing inside the housing, between the ball and...

    "gripper pattern" u bolt question

If I found a set that didn't have the proper knurl, I'd look REALLY close to make sure they're not Chinese Trash. In a street car, I don't know that the knurl missing is a deal-breaker, but I would never run them without the flat. That flat is what keeps them from crimping your axle. Even if you...

    Runs a bit lean...

Don't forget to adjust your timing after you get the carb dialed in. And then re-dial in your carb. And then re-dial in your timing.

    Runs a bit lean...

If it has been allowed to sit for a season, it's highly likely that the fuel evaporated from the carb and gummed up some small passages

Hypothetical question, but I would assume to be in favor of keeping the leaf spring system.

New EPA regulations allowing E15 fuel to be sold starting this summer.

Just add water! Stir it up. Let it settle. Then, siphon off the de-alcoholed fuel!

Formed, Machined, and Assembled in the USA !!!

I looked. Doesn't say made anywhere else. Under American law, it only has to disclosed if it's NOT made in USA BELLEVILLE Boots makes a fine made in USA combat boot. Look for 'Berry Act Compliant'

    Leaf spring question

I've looked at fiberglass and carbon fiber leaf springs to save weight. Problem is, they break, and they're mono leaf. Do people ever run a steel single main leaf with fiberglass or carbon fiber leaves for the rest of the stack? No breaky breaky but still lighter than a pile of steel.

    Old Internationals

I'm pretty sure stopping those old trucks just relied on rolling resistance, wind resistance and good luck. Curious for answers.

Has anyone had experience with Kumho tires

I've run the Solus for years on Neons. They're good tires. I bought the Coopers because they're made in USA, and I have about the same opinion of them. I wasn't unhappy with either.

speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

There's another possibility to keep in mind here.... It could be that Speedmaster is only buying the offending parts from the same people that the 'original' seller/designer/manufacturer is buying them from.... Those cnc tool paths are awfully similar

speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

Maybe I misunderstood the situation, but let's not kid ourselves.... Summit was willing to make money on sellout counterfeit ****, until their name got tied to sellout counterfeit ****. **** China and **** Summit for dealing with them. The only thing that changed here is that someone got...

    76 breaks problem

If I'm not mistaken, that little 'ramp' around the center hole on those drums is going to cause a problem when you bolt those wheels on. That surface needs to be flat.

AM radio to Bluetooth.. or other ideas.

I was going to do this, and it's ridiculously easy to do so....but most new phones don't have 1/8" jacks any more and I haven't seen the equivalent of this for a USB cable.

What transfer pump have you had luck with?

Use grease on one side of your housing gasket and it won't tear when you pull the front of the chunk off to drain the oil.
